INTRODUCING LAPFCU’S GUARDIAN CHECKING ACCOUNT PROTECTING THOSE WHO PROTECT DETAILS:
LAPFCU’s new FREE Guardian Checking Account is designed specifically for law enforcement personnel (active-duty or retired), and will only be offered to these members. This checking account includes unlimited monthly ATM fee rebates nationwide, no monthly fees, and free premium identity-protection services1 if monthly benefit requirements are met: • LEO Web Protect2 for sworn personnel: Digital privacy service that continually removes member’s personal information from the Internet • IdentityForce3 for non-sworn personnel: Comprehensive ID theft monitoring and restoration service

Starting June 29, 2022, Guardian and Performance will be LAPFCU’s two primary checking account options. We will no longer promote new EZ and Cash Back Checking Accounts for new or existing members. Members who have existing EZ and Cash Back Checking Accounts will be grandfathered with those accounts. These members can also switch to Guardian (if they are active or retired law enforcement) or Performance Checking, if desired.

Q: What are the requirements to be eligible for these services? A: To qualify for free identity-protection services, members with a Guardian Checking Account must: • Be an active-duty or retired sworn or non-sworn law enforcement professional • Maintain the Guardian Checking Account • Have a minimum combined monthly direct deposit of $500.00 • Be enrolled in e-Statements and e-Disclosures Q: Who determines which members are eligible for these services? A: Eligibility will be determined internally by IT and Marketing. Once Marketing identifies members who meet the requirements (active-duty/retired law enforcement personnel, $500 minimum monthly direct deposit, and enrollment in e-Statements), we will email those members access links to register for the specific identity-protection service that is offered to them. Q: How will I know if a member meets the requirements for these services? A: Members with a Guardian Checking Account who meet the requirements for these services will have accounts flagged by IT so Associates will be able properly identify them. See image, below.

SERVICE ACTIVATION/ELIGIBILITY Q: Which vendors will provide the identity-protection services? A: Free identity-protection services will be provided for eligible Guardian Checking Account members by the following vendors: • LEO Web Protect (leowebprotect.com/product/los-angeles-police-federal-credit-union) will provide a digital privacy service for SWORN personnel. • Sontiq (lapfcu.sontiq.com) will provide a comprehensive identity-monitoring and restoration service for NON-SWORN personnel. Q: Will the LEO Web Protect or the IdentityForce services go into effect right away? A: No. Members must meet all qualifying criteria (minimum $500 monthly direct deposit and e-Statement enrollment) before LAPFCU can offer them these services. • Upon verification of eligibility, Marketing will email the member a special access link and inform them that they are eligible to register for a specific identity-protection service: > LEO Web Protect for sworn personnel > IdentityForce with Sontiq Restoration for non-sworn personnel • The emailed link will be active for 90 days from the send date > After 90 days, members can still qualify for respective benefits and register, but they will need to contact LAPFCU and request a new access code. A Business Development Officer will email the new link. • Existing members may receive the offer soon after launch; new members might have a slight delay as we verify that they meet all requirements. • Benefits start the first of the month after the member registers. Q: What if a member doesn’t register for the identity-protection service within the 90-day window? A: After 90 days, the link contained in the email will be deactivated. At this point, members will need to contact LAPFCU and request a new access code. A Business Development Officer will email the new link. Q: How can eligible members activate the ID-protection services? A: Once LAPFCU verifies that the member meets the requirements, Marketing will email the member an access code link. • The member must register for the service at the partner-site link provided • The member must use the access code within 90 days of receipt, or it will expire (if it expires, the member needs to request a new code link, please send a Fresh Service ticket to marketing and the team will send a new code to the member.) Q: How long do the free LEO Web Protect or the IdentityForce services protect the member with a Guardian Checking Account? A: The free identity-protection services (LEO Web Protect for sworn members and IdentityForce with Sontiq Restoration for non-sworn members) are provided as long as the account is in good standing (no negative balance, charge-offs, etc.) and benefit requirements are met. However, all members must renew protection services annually. LAPFCU will send members a reminder email to renew the services. This is subject to change at any time.

Q: Will benefit requirements be evaluated each month? If a member no longer meets the requirements at some point, will services end that same month? A: When the service is first launched, members who meet eligibility requirements will be provided a year of service, regardless of whether they meet monthly requirements or not. Marketing will perform an eligibility check prior to sending out the annual renewal email link. Once the core conversion is complete, this process will be automated, and the system will perform monthly eligibility checks. Look out for updates. Q: How will this work with members who may not use email or need help signing up for the services? A: W e will approach this on a case-by-case basis. Usually, a Business Development Officer will call the member and assist them.
SERVICE-SPECIFIC INFORMATION Q: What happens if LEO Web Protect discovers private information on the internet about a registered sworn member? A: If LEO Web Protect discovers private information on the internet about a registered sworn member, the company will send the member a discovery summary for review and ask for permission to communicate with site owners on the member’s behalf. Q: What happens if a non-sworn member registered with IdentityForce with Sontiq Restoration has their identity stolen or their personal information is compromised? A: Sontiq Restoration will manage the non-sworn member’s identity restoration and assist them through the process. This can be done conveniently online or through a Sontiq Identity Restoration Specialist. Q: Who is eligible for LEO Web Protect or IdentityForce services? A: Only sworn and non-sworn law enforcement personnel who have active Guardian Checking Accounts in good standing, and meet benefit requirements are protected by LEO Web Protect or IdentityForce.
OTHER BENEFITS Q: How do the LEO Web Protect and IdentityForce services differ from the free CyberScout services offered to all members? A: Only active or retired sworn and non-sworn law enforcement personnel who meet account requirements and have active Guardian Checking Accounts in good standing are offered LEO Web Protect or IdentityForce services. • All members qualify for free CyberScout Lifestages Resolution Services (lapfcu.myideducation.com). > This identity-theft resolution service is provided by Sontiq via phone. No registration or sign up is needed to take advantage of this service. > I f a member’s identity is compromised, they can call the 800 number, identify themselves as a LAPFCU member, and receive free professional assistance. • All members can also upgrade to more comprehensive monitoring services and tools with special discounted prices on various FraudScout by CyberScout (myidmanager.com/lapfcu) plans, which include comprehensive credit and identity-fraud monitoring services <lapfcu.org/services/id-theft-prevention-resolution>.

Q: Can a member qualify for Member Benefits with a Guardian Checking Account? A: Yes, a member can qualify for Member Benefits if they: • Have a minimum combined monthly direct deposit of $250.00 (but $500 monthly minimum to be eligible for Guardian Checking ID-protection services) • Are enrolled in e-Statements and e-Disclosures • Conduct four payments via Online Bill Pay or ACH debits monthly (can be combined) Q: Are ATM reimbursements automatically credited to a member’s account, or does a member have to opt-in to e-Statements and e-Disclosures for this? A: To receive ATM reimbursements, members with a Guardian Checking Account must: • Maintain the Guardian Checking Account • Have a minimum combined monthly direct deposit of $500.00 • Be enrolled in e-Statements and e-Disclosures DISCLOSURES:
Guardian Checking can only be opened by members that are sworn or non-sworn law enforcement personnel (active or retired) of county or municipal police departments or sheriff’s offices in qualifying areas we serve. Sworn law enforcement personnel will receive a one-year subscription to LEO Web Protect services. Non-sworn law enforcement personnel will receive a one-year subscription to IdentityForce services. Both services will be renewed annually if the monthly Guardian Checking requirements are met: (a) $500 or greater monthly direct deposit/ACH credit and (b) opt into e-Statements and e-Disclosures.
