Travel to West African countries has become even more seamless with the elimination of COVID-19 test requirements, immigration and health cards, ensuring a hassle-free travel experience within the region. PEACE & SECURITY Ghana is notably one of the safest countries in Africa, ranking 4th on the 2023 Global Peace Index. Despite political instability in a few West African countries, Ghana’s people and security organizations ensure the steadfast safety of all. Foreigners can walk safely by themselves while exploring the country. As with other tourist destinations, necessary caution should always be applied, such as carrying small amounts of money. Moreover, it is advisable to reduce the wearing of expensive jewelry, and valuable items should be kept in a secure place, such as a hotel safety deposit box.

NOVEMBER’S TRAVEL UPDATES British Airways Aditional Flight To Accra
British Airways commenced operations on an added route from London Gatwick Airport on October 30, 2023. The inaugural flight received a welcome from the British High Commissioner to Ghana, Harriet Thompson. The new flight will run three times a week, boosting the airline's Accra operations to 11 direct flights weekly. This timely launch enhances Ghana's accessibility for visitors, especially during the holiday period from December to January, anticipating increased tourist arrivals.
Visa Requirements For Africans Changing Ghana and South Africa have established an exciting agreement, providing 90-day visa waivers for citizens from both nations annually. This initiative, effective since November 1, 2023, aims to enhance bilateral relations, boost tourism, and foster trade. Similarly, the Presidents of Kenya and Rwanda have announced plans to eliminate visa requirements for travelers across Africa. This step aims to unify the continent, facilitating easier travel between countries. The Presidents see this as a catalyst for other African nations to join, creating unprecedented opportunities for the entire continent.
