NAME: LANA DALES CURRENTLY STUDYING: LEVEL 3 FASHION REATIL BUSINESS INTERESTS: FASHION, STYLING, RUNNING CAREER GOAL: MAGAZINE EDITOR, BUSINESS OWNER WHAT IS FASHION JOURNALISM TO ME? I've always enjoyed reading magazines ever since a young age as I think it's the perfect way to express your creativity while putting information and ideas out there. Fashion Journalism has the prime focus on the world of fashion with it involving to report all the key fashion events, trends and news. Fashion journalism for me is a way to build a community while putting your and other people's opinions across, it's a way of spreading valued information to catch the interests of people by using the power of words as it can change lives. Its a way to explore and share my passion for my fashion. It allows you to express you creativity in such a fun and unique way. I want a career in fashion journalism as I want to aspire and entertain readers while promoting key thngs which need to be discussed like diversity and inclusivity in the industry. Culture in fashion has a massive part to play within fashion and my interest in fashion. Fashion for me is the perfect way to self-express yourself and to really find yourself without it all being about looks and beauty. There are so many fun eras and specific events within fashion which has really altered it and this is something I love to explore and to research more on.

The most important fashion media is TikTok. The power it has built to be able to control people is insane and it’s something that had never really been seen before, TikTok turned up with a unique approach to content creation and consumption. Its short-form videos and algorithm-driven content discovery have made it a preferred platform for younger audiences, and it has got them hooked. TikTok has been able to make or break people’s lives overnight. A single viral video can turn a fashion novice into an overnight sensation, with brands lining up to collaborate with them. The platform has also democratized fashion, giving rise to a new generation of trendsetters who are not necessarily models or celebrities, but ordinary people with a unique sense of style. TikTok has also made fashion more accessible, with users able to shop directly from the app, making it easier for them to replicate the looks they see on their favourite creators. With its ability to shape the tastes and preferences of its users, TikTok has become a force to be reckoned with in the fashion industry, and one that is here to stay. TikTok has become such a major player in the fashion industry, with its power to influence people's style choices and preferences. The platform's popularity skyrocketed during the lockdown period in 2020, as people sought entertainment and a creative outlet to alleviate boredom. Since then, TikTok has been a driving force behind many of the latest fashion trends, events, and faces. It has helped to democratize fashion by giving a platform to new designers and influencers who might not have had the opportunity to break into the industry otherwise. However, TikTok's influence is not always positive, as it can contribute to fast fashion and unsustainable consumerism. But TikTok has been successful in creating a sense of community and inclusivity, this thrives in the fashion industry as everyone's focus is all about diversity and inclusivity. It provides a platform for individuals of different backgrounds, races, and genders, leading to the acceptance of different types of beauty. Moreover, it has also helped to promote sustainable fashion by raising awareness of the environmental impact of fast fashion.

Influencers on TikTok have significant power as they can reach millions of users through their content, and this can be done in very short periods of time. They can create trends, promote products and services, and even shape cultural conversations overnight which is something that never has been seen before in this influencer market, it has really shaped and changed peoples prospective of influencers. Many brands are now using influencer marketing on TikTok to reach younger audiences and increase their brand awareness. However, it is important to note that not all influencers have the same level of power, and their impact can vary depending on their niche audience, and engagement rates. Influencers can be effective within this world, they have a strong social presence and if used correctly they can make a real difference in this world. Overall, TikTok's influence on the fashion industry has been transformative, and it will continue to shape the future of this industry. TikTok is the most important fashion media as it has captured a large audience quickly, it is constantly promoting fashion trends rapidly and leads to large business and personal growth for some.

This collection was created as a range for HOUSE OF CB, inspired by African fashion. I called my range Soft Summer Sensuality as its all inspired by summer. The board above is the inspiration board I created for my range showcasing the colour, styles and prints Ive used for my range.

CRAZE Magazine was created as my Final Major Project and we got pretty free rein on being able to create something we want. I chose to create a magazine all about Y2K fashion as it's the best way to write about now and then. I've been able to research about culture in fashion as well through this project. This project allowed me to research further into key fashion trends and events which have really altered fashion and particularly trends. I believe I have used and highlighted my skills and abilities well during this project, and that was proven when my final grade was a Distinction on this project. In the end, I created a 63-page magazine.

RESEARCH TO SUPPORT CRAZE MAGAZINE

This project was done as a partnership with Oxfam and the fashion reatil academy. We was designed to rebrand Oxfam to appeal more to the GenZ generation and I believe I definitely achieved that with this project and its shown in my work. I received a DISTINCTION in this project. I redesigned Oxfam to appeal to the GenZ generation by a large use of celebrities and influencers as these types of creators is what GenZ follow and are really influenced by. I redesigned Oxfam to be more fun and colourful as well, The new type of product I planned for Oxfam to source will really attract the GenZ generation as well and it fits the summer theme of my advertisement as well. Ive created new mockups for magazine features, instagram posts, Instagram stories, tube posters and brand collaboration mockups. While creating new mock-ups for oxfams website, store floor plan, store fixtures and signage.
