Lam’s Gallery by Midco
Founded in 1988 by the esteemed connoisseur known affectionately as “Mama Lin,” Lam’s Gallery has built a renowned reputation in the international Chinese art market. Over the course of more than three decades, the gallery has earned the trust of collectors, scholars, and institutions worldwide through its unwavering commitment to authenticity, scholarship, and curatorial excellence.
Since the 1990s, the gallery has been led by the second-generation owner, Ms. Midco Lam (林雲翔), whose expertise spans over 30 years in the field. With an extensive understanding of Chinese cultural heritage dating back more than 5,000 years, she has handled an extraordinary array of materials, including ceramics, bronzes, archaic jades, calligraphy, and classical painting. Ms. Lam’s work is widely respected by leading museums, renowned auction houses, esteemed dealers, and discerning private collectors.
Located in M Place, Wong Chuk Hang, Hong Kong, the gallery regularly stages exhibitions that reflect its commitment to quality and historical depth. In addition to her role at Lam’s Gallery, Ms. Lam is also the founder of Songyin Hall (松隱閣), a private collection brand. Highlights from the Songyin Hall collection have been exhibited at the University Museum and Art Gallery (UMAG) of the University of Hong Kong, where Ms. Midco Lam has also generously contributed works from her collection in support of public scholarship and education.

林雲翔女士（Midco Lam）於1990年代踏足古代藝術行 業，至今已有超過30年的專業經歷，涉及門類包括陶瓷、 青銅器、古代玉器、書法及古代繪畫。畫廊的專業成就已 得到世界著名博物館、領先拍賣行、尊貴經銷商以私人 收藏家的認可與尊重。
「松心閣 by Midco」之外，林雲翔女士還創辦了其私人 收藏品牌——松隱閣（Songyin Hall）。松隱閣部分藏品 亦經林女士捐贈，入藏香港大學的藝術博物館（UMAG） ，以支持公共學術及教育事業。
This set of ten small ritual vessels can be compared with examples recorded in Ceramics of the Northern Qi (published by the Tokiwayama Bunko), which documents excavated findings from tombs dating to the Northern Dynasties through the Sui period. Among them, five have closely related counterparts: a disc base ring pattern candlestick, a long neck kundika vase (jingping), a dish-mouthed kundika vase, a dish-mouthed vessel of ‘hu’, and a casket with a jewel-shaped knop (possibly a reliquary container). Two others find partial analogies, though not identical, namely: a square-based high stand with string decoration, and a dish with three animal feet and animal-mask ring handles. The remaining three appear to have no parallels and may be considered unique: a straight-walled deep bowl of altar (bo) type, a tripod steamer with applied square mesh pattern (Yan), and a straight-walled round basin.
All known examples within this group are closely associated with Buddhist ritual practices, suggesting that the present set was also related to Buddhist liturgy in the Northern Dynasties. Extant examples are exceedingly rare. For comparison, one may note the group of nine Buddhist ritual vessels formerly in the Fengwentang collection, exhibited in the Lotus Heart Eternal exhibition at Songyin Hall (A Brand of Lam’s Gallery by Midco) in 2024. Those vessels, with a faint greenish tone, contrast with the present group, whose surface patina is characterized by a pale, ivory-white hue.
這套小型供器一組共十件，根據常盤山文庫出版的「北齊的陶瓷」中收 錄的北朝至隋期間的出土墓葬紀錄顯示，有同類器型出土紀錄的有五 件，分別是：圓盤座弦紋燭台、淨瓶、盤口淨瓶、盤口壺、寶珠鈕奩式器（ 或謂舍利函）；有類似品，但不完全相同的有兩件，分別是：方座弦紋寶 珠鈕高台和獸面環三獸足弦紋奩；沒有類似，或為孤品的有三件，分 別是：直壁深腹砵型器、三足貼方網紋甗、直壁圓洗。
這組器物所已知的器物皆與佛教儀式緊密相連，因此推斷這組器物應 該與北朝佛教禮儀相關。存世極爲罕見，參考松隱閣2024年「蓮心千 古」展覽之另一組奉文堂舊藏佛教禮器九件，顏色略微發青，與本次 展品的白皙皮殼相互輝映。
