Every child deserves the best care possible. With more than 747,000 patient visits annually, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles cares for more kids than any other facility in Los Angeles. CHLA’s nationally recognized clinicians provide more than 350 specialty programs and services to create hope and build healthier futures for children.
At CHLA, the small things mean everything. Every aspect of our hospital is designed to care for children. This means that devices and supplies are all just the right size for every kid, and every step of the way includes family members and loved ones in a child’s care and recovery. From blood pressure cuffs and diapers for tiny preemies to our special brand of patient-and family-centered care, CHLA is specifically engineered for infants, children, and adolescents.
CHLA doesn’t just care for kids. The institution is driven to pursue research and innovation that will advance their care. An academic medical center affiliated with the Keck School of Medicine of USC, CHLA is home to The Saban Research Institute, which performs basic, translational, and clinical research and ranks among the Top pediatric hospitals nationwide for prestigious National Institues of Health funding.
CHLA is ranked top 10 in the nation, No. 1 in California (tied), and No. 1 in the Pacific region (tied) on U.S. News & World Report’s prestigious Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll for 2024-2025.

City of Hope is one of the largest and most advanced cancer research and treatment organizations in the United States, with its National Medical Center ranked among the top five in the nation for cancer by U.S. News & World Report. With 39 locations across five metropolitan areas and its newest addition, Hope Plaza, City of Hope is transforming scientific breakthroughs into lifesaving treatments for patients everywhere.
With stunning views of the San Gabriel Mountains, Hope Plaza is one of City of Hope’s most ambitious projects yet. “It’s much more
than a medical building,” says Marcel van den Brink, M.D., Ph.D., president of City of Hope National Medical Center.
As the centerpiece of a multi-year campus transformation near City of Hope’s National Medical Center in Los Angeles, Hope Plaza expands space for lifesaving innovations—all under one roof. It integrates breakthrough science, game-changing outpatient care, and leading-edge, image-guided therapies for previously untreatable diseases.
Its location, just steps from research labs and patient care settings, enhances City of Hope’s ability to deliver lifesaving therapies and clinical trials directly to patients.
“As a physician-researcher, I especially value bringing scientific discovery, advanced technology, and humanity together in one space,” Dr. van den Brink said. “We’re harnessing the power of proximity.”
Hope Plaza—winner of multiple design awards—is built for both today and the future. It features an expanded clinical research unit for patients to receive the latest cellular therapies, along with enhanced facilities for pain management, nutrition, and other services that support patient recovery.
