What’s the deal? Why do you treat us all like shit when all we are trying to do is find a home. Yes, I understand you deal with more people then your average town for rentals but it gives you no right to act like God’s gift to tenants. Not only do the property managers sit on a cloud of unircorn farts, the system in place in NZ with the whole “letting fee” is a bunch of horse crap. Mind you I’ve only rented in 3 other countries but never have I heard such a thing.
Why should the tennant pay the Real Estate for them doing their jobs? It’s their sole job to fill out paperwork, list properties, pay for advertising, etc. What dickhead genius came up with a grand idea so that the person moving into that home should be responsible for covering these costs. It’s beyond me how this is not considered extortion. NZ housing needs to get their shit together.

Friendly Pleasantries Why don’t people greet one another on the streets? Exchanging pleasantries with passerby’s or strangers is not weird as it is quite common in some parts of New Zealand and that’s how I was raised.

Comments To The Mayor’s 10 Year Plan - 665 I don’t know why people are up in arms about a new QLDC building when all their staff are currently located in CBD town, it is in no way going to increase the number of workers as they were already there in the first instance. And also, there is no way to stop this growth, its inevitable, Queenstown will never be what it was. I don’t know why young families buy here and then complain about the cost of living... should have done the research before you brought. Stop complaining and thinking you’re entitled.
Already There Already There. I would have thought the whole purpose of a District plan was to come up with innovative ideas and is a once in a lifetime opportunity to improve situations? Locating 400 staff plus clients of the QLDC in a high-cost central city location, that has and will continue to suffer from heavy traffic congestion and parking woos will certainly not help improve things.
Over & Out I think the point is that why should the ratepayers fund an incredibly expensive HQ smack bang in the middle of town when it would be far cheaper to buy and build something out in Frankton. Where there is plenty of parking for people to visit council. Taking 400 staff out of the CBD and moving them to Frankton can only help congestion and parking in town enormously. I’ve been to a few council meetings where myself and other members of the public have questioned why the new HQ needs to be in town and you should hear the ferocity from QLDC staff when it’s mentioned. I’ve had friendlier responses trying to take a bone off a Rottweiler. They are building in town and that is NOT UP FOR DISCUSSION
