You’ve been accepted to Lakeland: What to do next! 1. Pay your deposit • A $1,500 non-refundable deposit holds your seat. Your acceptance letter will tell you when it’s due. • It is easy to pay your tuition deposit, program fees, residence application fee, or residence rent fees. Use flywire at https://payment.flywire.com/pay/payment. Flywire allows you to pay securely from almost any country and any bank, typically in your home currency, and allows you to track your payment through email or text notifications. • Payment of your tuition deposit will initiate the request for your Provincial Attestation Letter. The Provincial Attestation Letter will be emailed to you from MyCreds. • Failure to pay the tuition deposit on time will result in the cancellation of your admission. • The tuition deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable to future terms. 2. Apply for your study permit and visa • As a part of your study permit application, you may be required to pay more than just the deposit fee. Your letter will include the total amount payable for first and second semester. • Make sure you check the study permit processing times and apply early. • Email your study permit approval to international@lakelandcollege.ca by the due date in your acceptance letter. • Failure to meet this condition will cancel your admission. 3. Other mandatory program requirements (Human Services and Health Care Aide ONLY) • The original police clearance certificate is a legal requirement to go on practicum • Some programs require specific immunizations and certificates • Your Letter of Acceptance and program page will let you know what is required 4. Practicums (work placements)- What you need to know! • Practicums are a valuable opportunity to gain work experience and are mandatory for graduation. • Getting to your work placement is your responsibility. Neither of our campus locations have public transportation (bus service). We cannot guarantee that your workplace practicum will be within walking distance or even in the same community. 5. Refund Policy • If your study permit is denied, you may be eligible for a $1,000 partial refund of the tuition deposit. ($500 is not refundable) and a full refund of your remaining program fees. • To be eligible for the partial tuition deposit refund, email a Refund Request Form, with the denial letter to admissions@lakelandcollege.ca. This form and the document must be submitted within 4 weeks of the date your denial letter was issued. Refund forms are not accepted after 4 weeks past registration day. • If you decide not to attend Lakeland College, please email international@lakelandcollege.ca or admissions@lakelandcollege.ca. We will refund program and tuition fees, less the full $1,500 nonrefundable tuition deposit. • We do not defer applications or tuition deposits. 6. Learn the details of your program choice • Review your program details and course descriptions to ensure it is the right fit. To find this information select your program from the A to Z program listing on our website. If you discover that your program choice is not suited to you, please let us know. If there is space in another program beginning the same term and you are qualified, you may be able to switch. • Applicants are eligible for one program change request before Registration Day.
