Throughourextensiveandlong-standingexperienceintheschool’sinsurancesector, wehavedevelopedatailor-madeschemethatissimpleandeffectivetoboththe schoolandfeepayersshouldapupil’seducationbeinterruptedduetoanaccidentor sickness.
Fulltermsandconditionsofthegrouppolicyarecontainedinthescheduleandpolicy wording,whichisheldbytheinsuredschool,andavailabletoyouforinspection,which togetherformthepolicyofinsurance.Theycanalsobeviewedatmarsh.com/PAIS4Day Youhaveachoiceofhowtoreceivepolicyinformation:onpaperorbyelectronicmeans. Papercopiesareavailablefromtheschoolonrequest.
HowistheSchemeoperated?
MarshLtdhasa“delegatedauthority”grantedbytheinsurerwhichmeansthatitactsas agentoftheinsurer,andwehavetheauthoritytoissuedocumentation(inaccordancewith agreedterms)ontheinsurer'sbehalf.
YourparticipationinthisSchemeisoptional.IfyouareincludedintheSchemetheinsurance premiumischargedtoyourchild’sfeeaccounteachterm.
Youmaycanceltheinsuranceatanytimebywritingtotheschoolpriortothestartofany term.Ifyoucancelafterthestartofanytermforwhichyouhavepaidthepremium,coverwill continueuntiltheendoftheperiodforwhichyouhavepaidthepremium.
Thetermlypremiumpayabletotheschoolis0.73%ofthetermlyfee, excludingextras.ThisincludesInsurancePremiumTaxatthecurrent rateof12%.
Howareclaimscalculated?
Claimsarebasedonthelengthofabsenceduringtermtimeonly.Theamountpayablefor eachfulldayofabsence,orabsencefromclassesifaboarder,iscalculatedbydividingthe actualnumberofdaysintheterm(includingweekendsandhalftermbreaks)intothepupil’s feeforthatterm.Intheeventofaclaimforschoolclosureduetoanoutbreakofaninfectious disease,excludinganyneworexistingpandemicorepidemicofdisease,aseven-day excessapplies.Thismeansthatthereisnocoverforthefirstsevendaysofanysuch closure.
HowdoImakeaclaim?
Claimformscanbeobtainedfromyourschool.Youshouldcompleteandreturntheclaim formtotheschoolnolaterthan30daysafterthecloseofthetermtowhichtheabsence relates.Iftheabsencebeingclaimedforexceeds14consecutivefulldays,theappropriate sectionoftheclaimformmustalsobecompletedbythepupil’sDoctor.Anychargeorfee exceeding£25forcompletingtheformistobebornebythefeepayer,inanyoneperiodof insurance.Onreceiptofthecompletedclaimform,aschoolofficialwillvalidatetheabsence andforwardittoMarshwhowillassessandmanagetheclaim.Allclaimsarehandledby Marshonbehalfoftheinsurersunderadelegatedauthorityagreement.Theinsureris entitledtoappointamedicalpractitioner,consultantspecialistoreducationalpsychologistto examineandreportonthepupilwhereaclaimismadeormaybemade.Thiswillbeatthe Insurersexpense.

Sharinginformation:Wecollectinformationfromthepupil’sparentsand/orguardiansand fromthirdpartiessuchasthepupil’sschool,medicalprofessionalsand/orinsurer(s).We sharepersonalinformationwithinsurer(s)ofthepupils’personalabsenceinsurancescheme andourserviceproviders,includingothergroupcompanies,sub-contractorsandour professionaladvisorsandauditors.Ifrequiredorpermittedbylaw,weshareinformationwith ourregulators,thecourtsandotherauthorities.
Legalgrounds:Werelyupononeormoreofthefollowinglegalbasesforprocessing personalinformation:
