Blossoming in Paris, with roots in the Black Forest too

We combine what seem to be opposites in a unique way. Our roots lie in the heart of Paris, where our company was born back in 1948.

Nowadays, we are inspired by the calmness and purity of nature in the Black Forest, where we still manufacture our products in line with the highest quality standards. When doing so, we use nothing but high–quality ingredients and rely on sustainable production processes.

Family company

Marcel Contier founded La Biosthétique, and Siegfried Weiser and his family worked together with Contier to transform it into a successful brand. The two families worked side by side for many decades before the Weiser family ultimately took over the entire company.

Siegfried Weiser now runs La Biosthétique together with his children, Jean–Marc, Felix and Isabelle, cultivating a strong awareness of continuity and tradition and an equally strong understanding of innovation and dynamics.

As a family company, we focus on long–term, lasting and sustainable success. Helping to shape the future for upcoming generations is one of our most important desires. To achieve this, both we and our products need to meet the highest standards with regard to quality and innovation.

Our long–term perspective is also reflected in our sustainable approach to people, the environment and climate protection.

The highest production standards

The quality of a final product is closely connected to its production conditions. This is why we are committed to nothing but the highest production standards in our manufacturing activities. The quality of a product is determined not only by its end result but also by the conditions in which it is manufactured. In line with our objective of achieving the best possible quality, we have been actively committed to developing our products in accordance with the highest standards and based on the principles of the international “Guidelines on Good Manufacturing Practices” for more than half a century. We invest in training for our employees to continuously incorporate the latest findings and innovations into our production activities. Furthermore, we also regularly invite independent experts to evaluate our production conditions so that we can constantly improve. Last but not least, we focus on recycling, saving material and using recycled material when developing and producing our product packaging.

Focusing on the climate goal of the Paris Agreement

Since 2019, our commitment to climate protection has been based on a comprehensive analysis of our carbon footprint with regard to all three scopes, which records our total amount of greenhouse gas emissions. With external scientific support from “right. based on science”, we have had our climate compatibility assessed and we are determined to meet the 1.5°C climate goal of the Paris Agreement. To comply with the agreement, we plan to reduce our CO2 emissions by 20 percent by the year 2030.

Consistently dermatologically tested

All products made by our company are tested by renowned dermatological institutes in accordance with the European Cosmetics Directive. Only products that are scientifically proven to meet our high quality demands with regard to tolerance are accepted into our product range. After all, La Biosthétique is committed to quality at its best, and the skin and hair of our customers deserve nothing but the best.

Award – winning sustainability

Our approach has already earned us recognition, for example the Global Transition Award and the German Sustainability Award for Design. These prizes strengthen our desire to continue our climate journey and work together to further develop sustainability at La Biosthétique.

Caring for the environment with innovation

Our commitment to the environment is reflected in our consistent tradition of further development: We have played a pioneering role ever since the 1980s, from inventing professional shampoo concentrates and multivalent, resource–saving hair colouring systems to recycling packaging to create park benches. In as early as 2002, we introduced corn starch chips as a packaging material and since 2008, our production site has been using 100 percent eco–energy. Ninety percent of the ingredients used in our production activities are of natural origin, and we use 100–percent RSPO–certified palm oil and ensure fair, responsible procurement of our valuable ingredients.

Making people the focus of sustainability

Ever since our company was first founded, we have focused on long–term and trusting partnerships with our salon partners, employees and suppliers. Valuing and appreciating each individual is at the heart of how we think and what we do.

No animal testing

La Biosthétique has never conducted animal testing and supports the ban on animal testing in the EU, which was passed in 2009. We strongly believe that effective products can also be produced without resorting to such measures –and, indeed, must.

A good product meets the special wishes of customers and delivers visible results. Alongside sustainability, offering clear efficacy and achieving a visible before/after effect are our most important objectives.

The Methods have always been at the heart of our product range.
