Today we travel by TGV to Bordeaux, a two-hour journey with the afternoon free for personal sightseeing and shopping Set on the banks of the Garonne River, surrounded by vineyards, forests, sea, and mountains, Bordeaux offers over 2,000 years of history and an exceptional 18th-century architectural heritage. Approached via the Pont de Pierre, the city reveals a magnificent façade along the “Port of the Moon,” forming one of Europe’s most harmonious architectural ensembles. Once a major trading port, Bordeaux is now a paradise for wine, having produced legendary vintages such as Pétrus, Haut-Brion, and Margaux. Sunlit squares, lively terraces, and fine restaurants make it an ideal place to relax and savour local cuisine paired with world-class wines. We settle into the Le Grand Hotel Intercontinental Bordeaux for four nights in junior suites.

Our programme today includes golf at Cabot Bordeaux Médoc – Les Vignes Course. Designed by Rod Whitman, the course is set within a quintessential regional landscape, where rolling moorland and maritime pines enhance the architect’s vision. Long par-5 holes, carefully contoured greens and strategically placed bunkers demand precision and thoughtful play. And, we have time for Wine Tasting at Château du Tertre: We take a Grand Cru Classé of the Médoc, Château du Tertre commands an exceptional 52-hectare vineyard in a single, unbroken estate. Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure and depth, enhanced by the silky roundness of Merlot. Cabernet Franc adds refined spicy notes, while the late-ripening Petit Verdot completes the blend with aromatic complexity. The result is Château du Tertre Grand Vin – a pure and sophisticated expression of this remarkable terroir.

Golf today by one of the leading golf architects of our time at Saint-Émilion Golf Course. Saint-Émilion Golf Course is a new gem crafted by world-renowned architect Tom Doak (Cape Kidnappers, Barnbougle, Pacific Dunes, Tara iti and St Andrews Beach Links). Nestled in a valley fringed by centuries-old oak trees and framed by vineyards, it lies just six miles from the charming village of Saint-Émilion – an ideal setting for our Golf & Wine tours. True to Doak’s signature style, the course was shaped without artificial earthworks, allowing each hole to flow naturally across the landscape, offering a seamless blend of challenge, beauty, and harmony with the land.

Third round of golf before we head back to Paris for the start of our cruise: Golf at Cabot Bordeaux Médoc: Les Châteaux Course
Site of the 1999 French Open (European PGA Tour), the Médoc Les Châteaux Golf Course embodies the pure tradition of Scottish links. Wide fairways bordered by heather, gorse, and broom draw golfers into a landscape of carefully preserved natural beauty. With fast greens, winds rolling in from the Atlantic, and a technically challenging layout, this championship course offers a constant test for players of all levels.
Set in the heart of the Médoc wine region, the course leaves no doubt about its heritage – each hole is named after a top Médoc vintage, and the 150-yard markers are cleverly represented by bottles of wine. We finish our Bordeaux experience with some wine and French inspired canapés.

Golf d’Étretat – Clifftop golf with sweeping sea views
Perched dramatically atop the chalk cliffs of Normandy’s Côte d’Albâtre, Golf d’Étretat is an 18-hole, Par 71 course regularly ranked among France’s most remarkable seaside golf experiences.
The setting is spectacular with the course hugging the cliff tops above the English Channel, offering stunning panoramic views of the sea and the bay with the famous towering white cliffs as your backdrop on nearly every hole.
It is a challenging layout that rewards strategic play and shot variety, the wind off the sea adds an exciting challenge — especially on exposure holes like the iconic 10th, which demands accuracy from an elevated tee.
Founded in the early 20th century (courses date back to around 1908), Étretat blends rich golfing tradition with naturally dramatic terrain that has attracted visitors – golf lovers and artists alike – for more than a century.
Non-golfers can take in the Normandy region with a variety of excursions. For those wishing to go to the American sector of the historic Normandy Beaches, you will visit the cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, Omaha Beach, the artillery battery at Longues-sur-Mer and the village of Arromanches, where the remains of the floating harbour used during the WWII landings can be seen.
If you prefer, you can tour the Gold and Juno beaches in the British and Canadian sectors, where you will visit Ranville Cemetery, Pegasus Bridge, the Canadian cemetery at Beny-sur-Mer, the WWII museum in Courseulle and, finally, Arromanches. Alternatively, you can set out on a full day excursion to the delicious Pays d’Auge region of Normandy, where apple cider, Calvados and Pommeau outrank French wine. If you wish to experience a different kind of inspiration in Caudebec-en-Caux, you can journey back in time with the interactive exhibits and vessels at the Seine Museum.

Golf PGA France du Vaudreuil is one of Normandy’s most celebrated golf courses – a classic parkland layout set amidst centuriesold trees and winding waterways just south of Val de Reuil in northern France.
Designed by renowned British architect Fred William Hawtree and established in the early 1960s, it blends strategic shot-making with an inviting yet rewarding layout for all skill levels. The club sits in a beautifully wooded landscape with views across meanders of the Seine and adjacent rivers. A 17th-century barn has been lovingly restored as the clubhouse, adding historic charm and character to the venue.
Non-golfers are welcome to spend the morning exploring medieval Rouen with several exciting options. Join a walking tour to see the square where Joan of Arc was martyred, stroll through the Medieval Quarter, and admire the famous Great Clock. Alternatively, embark on the “Tastes of Normandy” tour and savour the region’s delicious specialties, including chocolate, Norman cheese, and cider; or get active on a guided bike tour through the city. Afterward, visit Bonnemare Castle, a 16th-century architectural gem set amidst picturesque poplar trees.

Established in 1990, it was designed by architects Hubert Chesneau and Robert von Hagge and has since become one of Europe’s most renowned golf complexes.
The facility features 43 holes across three courses: the famed Albatros (the main championship course), L’Aigle, and the short L’Oiselet course. Team PaR nz will play Albatross: a par-71 layout known for its tight, strategic fairways, prominent water hazards, and challenging conditions that reward precision – it’s widely regarded as a true test for skilled players.
Le Golf National has hosted the Open de France almost every year since 1991 and was the site of the 2018 Ryder Cup, marking the first time the event was held in France.
Full line up of options for non-golfers: Travel to Auberge Ravoux in the heart of Auvers-sur-Oise, the last home of artist Vincent van Gogh. Alternatively, admire the exquisite architecture of the Château de Malmaison, the former home of Napoleon and Josephine Bonaparte, renowned for what is considered “the most beautiful and curious garden in Europe.” Or, instead, choose to pedal through Paris on a guided cycling tour.
In the afternoon, experience the “City of Light” from a unique perspective aboard a modern riverboat at the Port de la Bourdonnais, located on the banks of the Seine near the Eiffel Tower. With exterior seating and viewing platforms, your one-hour cruise will be a dream as you glide along the river and beneath Paris’s ornate bridges.
