S t a t e m e n t Atelier Leouse /le:oos/ is a startup founded by both myself and my co-ed and best friend from college. We founded it with the mission to create sustainable, timeless heirloom pieces for a new generation of consumers. Paying homage to the past, while creating functional art that will last for many generationations into the future is our goal. Minimalism is key to our heirlooms, though their inspiration comes from antiquity to the mid-20th century, the result is always timeless and a powerful statement to be appreciated for generations. The images on this page were created for our first marketing capaign. Utilizing Instagram and other social media outlets to maximize recognition.

S t a t e m e n t Balance is Atelier Leouse’s debut collection. It was inspired by the majestic balancing act that is visible in the Southwestern landscape. Large sandstone boulders appear to stand against gravity on delicate spires. Balance tries to recreate this effect on a smaller scale, utilizing black oak and recycled acrylic to create something minimal, but stricking. S t a t e m e n t The Jackie Gaughan penthouse was staged by AL for the annual Martini Mixer, raising funds for the non-profit Nevada Preservation Foundation. Embracing, while not overpowering the space, we utilized a mix of pieces spanning the 20th century to complete the space.

S t a t e m e n t GoldHaas’s design is conceived to embrace the light fixture itself as a source a beauty. Through the use of LED decorative Edison-style fixtures, left exposed in virtually all the luminaires, the space is encompassed in visual warmth. The use of gold finishing’s on much of the furniture and luminaires further supports the sense of warmth created through the lighting scheme. 6 inch wide, floor to ceiling cutouts are used throughout the design to provide visual interest and connection to adjoining spaces, while maintaining a degree of visual and physical separation. S t a t e m e n t The concept for Addis Ababa Ethiopian restaurant is based on traditional Ethiopian patterns which are often geometric in nature. The key lighting element is the extensive use of backlit layered screens, which create an interesting visual effect on the reflected surfaces. This is used most widely along the ceiling. The visual interest created by the backlit alabaster bar and the layered screens before it speak to the Ethiopian patterns that inspired the design. The hanging linear is also backlit and composed of alabaster, limiting glare while clearing defining the circulation space between the bar and the primary dining area. S t a t e m e n t Washington Live is a proposed redevelopment district within the greater Westside section of Las Vegas, evolving out of numerous conversations with residents and representatives. The historically African American neighborhood includes numerous historic buildings, including two located directly within the Washington Live redevelopment area, including the Westside School (Circa 1923) and St. James Church (1943). Following the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, a gradual decline in residents has left the neighborhood a vertiable shell of its former self, Washinton Live is intended on recreating a vestige into the areas vibrant past, celebrating the many headliners who once called the Westside home.

S t a t e m e n t Assigned with the task of conceptualizing a number of building types, including townhomes and commercial lofts. and numerous commerical spaces. In the selected site, I attempted to create an urban environment on the micro-scale, given the gradual nature of the development plan, the design acts as a cut-out from an existing urban fabric, providing for a number of residential spaces, including townhomes, traditional condo units and commercial lofts.
