From Design Development, through FF&E Installation, the KJP team brings a thorough understanding of the impact of color, art, graphics and imagery to the built Interior environment. Through our process, we review floorplans and elevations, create art placement master plans, and develop project budgets and timelines. We work together with you on the art selections and can schedule indigenous photo trips, if applicable. Our team offers many creative solutions to help you enhance your project in multiple markets, including Hospitality, Corporate, Healthcare, and Pediatric Healthcare.
EVIDENCE-BASED DESIGN & THE POSITIVE EFFECT OF NATURE-BASED ART IN HEALTHCARE Kurt Johnson Photography (KJP) 6.24.16 Starting Evidence-based design, or EBD, is a field of study emphasizing credible evidence to influence design. This approach has become popular in healthcare to improve patient and staff well being, patient healing, stress reduction and safety.
Architects, Interior Designers, and Facility Managers use EBD in the planning, design and construction of commercial buildings and Interiors. The process is particularly suited to healthcare because of the unusually high stakes and the financial and clinical outcomes that can be impacted by the built environment. According to the Center for Health design, probably the most famous description of the impact of buildings on people came not from an Architect or a researcher studying performance, but from a politician, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill:
