REM KOOLHAAS

Koolhaas’ architecture is reactive to architectural trends in addressing modernity and globalization. His work embraces dynamism, complexity, and contradiction - of which is explored through each unique context.

PROGRAM & THESIS

PROGRAM | CAPPA NORTH REDEVELOPMENT

PROGRAM: ~4800sqft “DESIGN PAVILION” for CAPPA NORTH that celebrates work and style of precedent architect.

The main spaces provided are two design studios , an interior gallery , and exterior display/gathering spaces.

Other supplementary spaces are restroom facilities, an administration office, and storage rooms.

THESIS

“TRAJECTORIES: CAPPA NORTH” will elevate the studio and gallery experience through its circulation , materiality , and spatial configuration .

The key element, the “ trajectory ,” is circulation that prescribes how one navigates between the ‘private and public’ within the program.

Passive design is addressed for sustainability while nature is provided as spaces to convene with others or seclude oneself.
