Jordan has been a tremendous asset to the Carver Recreation Center in his role as Program Coordinator. The Johnson City Senior Center is located within Memorial Park Community Center and plans programs of interest for those 50+. The facility includes a fitness room, a computer lab, 2 full size gyms, a billiards room, 3 pools, several meeting/class rooms and 18 pickleball courts (indoor and outdoor)

Flight Simulator Cost: $5 Every Session (Ages 50+) Monday, September 21st & 28th, 10-11am Join us as we offer a realistic way for individuals to explore the world of aviation. Using advanced software, these simulations will create the experience of piloting an aircraft, complete with controls and visual displays. Participants will be able to practice takeoffs, landings, and learn the navigation system. We’ll use rice paper to decoupage a unique print (several to choose from) onto the board and then embellish the handle. This can be a unique piece to

We may also see some goats or maybe a few horses. This will be about 3.5 miles. Meet in the parking lot behind the Court House downtown Jonesborough. Please register Martin Creek Falls Cost: Free (Ages 50+) Friday, September 18th, 9am This hike is short but well worth the time. This hike will be up to the falls on a gravel path. Then down a steep slope to get the falls, bring poles. It will be muddy. Meet at the trail head at 9am or meet me at the center at 8:15am and follow over. Please register.

Warriors Path State Park Lake Shore trail Ages (50+) Cost: Free Thursday, September 24th, 9am This hike has steep stairs going down to the trail. We will go slow but just be mindful of this. We will hike down beside the water for some beautiful views. This is about a 2.5 mile hike. We will meet in the parking lot of the swimming pool in Warriors Path State park. Please register. Hip Hikers* 4-10+- miles, moderate to difficult trails, heavier elevation gain Phipps Bend Trail Cost: Free (Ages 50+) Friday, September 4th, 9am This will be about a 6 mile hike/walk. It will be on a trail that runs along the Holston River. We will see wetland, forest and the remnants of the nuclear plant. Mostly level but very muddy in
spots. Meet at the Phipps Bend trail Head near Surgoinsville on Phipps Bend rd. Please register. Buffalo Mountain Hike Cost: Free (Ages 50+) Friday, September 25th, 9am This will be about a 5 mile hike. There will be some elevation on this one. This Hike will take us up the White Rock trail and come back down Fork Knob trail. There will be switchbacks and narrow trails. Bring poles. Meet at the Trail head in Buffalo Mt. Park.
