It has been such a busy & exciting couple of weeks for us here at Roding Valley! The academic year of 2022-2023 has started in such a positive way & we have lots to share with you throughout this bulletin. Last Saturday we opened our doors to over one thousand visitors to come and take a look at our fantastic site, meet our brilliant staff & speak to our wonderful students. It was incredible to see so many prospective parents & students, who joined us for a guided tour & Head Teacher’s talk. Our student volunteers were a credit to our school & I wanted to say a massive thank you to all those students that gave up their Saturday to support their school. You can view the recording of the Head Teacher’s talk by clicking here. We also shared a copy of our new ‘Year in the Life of Roding Valley High School’ 2022 edition with visiting parents; I also wanted to share this with current parents. Please click here to view it. You may also be aware that we welcomed OFSTED into our school at the beginning of last week. They visited lots of lessons, spoke to many of our staff & met with a large number of our students. I am very much looking forward to sharing the outcome of this visit with our parents, carers & wider community- but will only be able to do so once the judgements have been moderated; which will hopefully be just after the half term break. I also wanted to say thank you to any parents/ carers that took the time to complete the parent survey. I also wanted to take this opportunity to remind Year 11 parents & students that our Pre Public examinations series 1 are on the horizon. These PPEs will start on Tuesday 1st November- your son/daughter have received their individual exam timetables that contain the specific subjects & papers that feature on each day. All year 11s will experience a revision workshop over the next 2 weeks & will also be practising our RVHS Tried & Tested revision techniques during their personal development sessions, to make sure that they feel prepared for this stage in their year 11 journey. I wanted to remind all parents/ carers that we have a fantastic GCSE Revision microsite that is on our school website on the Revision Resources page. You can also find it by clicking here.
