It was a pleasure to have Epping Forest MP Dame Eleanor Laing visit the school. Her visit was arranged through The Politics Project and she faced some tough questioning from our A Level Politics students. The students raised questions on a variety of topics including, her role as Deputy Speaker, women in Parliament, ‘Partygate’, Dominic Raab’s resignation and the effectiveness of the House of Lords. Our switched on students were also interested in her views and ranking of the last 5 Prime Ministers. The Year 12/13 students were very mature and knowledgeable in their questioning and I was very proud of them all. Click here for news release from Everything Epping Forest Thank you for your continuing support of the school. There has been a marked improvement in the wearing of the school uniform and PE kit since Easter, and I am grateful for your support in this matter. The students look smart and this impacts on the culture and ‘feel’ of the school. As discussed, we will take further sanctions against that very small minority who persist in not wearing the expected attire and/or on the correct days. Please expect to hear from us and please, if you are experiencing any form of financial hardship then please just talk to your child’s Year Progress Leader, or contact Mr Price, Assistant Headteacher Student Welfare. The students overwhelmingly want to retain the privilege of wearing their PE kit on PE days and it would be a shame for the minority to ruin this for the majority. Year 11’s and 13’s are entering their final weeks of preparation before their exams and I remain grateful for the support of the teachers here, who go above and beyond. Easter revision sessions were very well attended. Please do note the very important key dates later in the bulletin, they can also be found in the Year 11 letter sent on the 13th March and the Y13 letter. If your child is in need of any additional support then please do reach out to the school, this can be a very anxious time. The initial results from the pre-public exams look very encouraging and the vast majority of our students have made excellent progress and attainment is good. I am very proud of every single student and recognise the challenges that they have overcome on this recent journey. Please remember that all Y11s and Y13s are on site on Tuesday as per my letter regarding the industrial action on Tuesday 2nd May.
