As the headteacher, I am very proud of this school, and the quality of education that we offer. My staff have worked tirelessly to make significant improvements to the school and establish the learning journey through to the age of 18. As we endeavour to continuously improve, we remain committed to every child, both their academic success and personal well-being. We are a local school, serving our local community and we will continuously self-evaluate to make further improvements as we aspire to be the very best that we can be.

Academic success is very important but in a non-selective school, it is important that we recognise that all children have different starting points and experiences. We aspire to add value to the life chances of every child and I am therefore, very proud of our published 2022 Progress 8 measure. I believe in an inclusive culture and value attendance, behaviour and uniform as key attributes in success. In line with the national picture, our attendance rates have not returned to their excellent pre-pandemic levels and this will have an impact on those students affected. I thank every parent/carer who has a positive attitude to school attendance as you are making a difference and really supporting your child. Can I reiterate that we do not authorise holidays in term time and students should attend school unless they are seriously ill. Students should aim to be in school 100% of the time and we are always on hand to support children with barriers to attendance.
