I would like to take this opportunity to wish our Year 11 students all the very best for their future endeavours. My staff and I are so proud of them all and for those not returning to sixth form, I wish them every success in their chosen pathway. It was a pleasure to attend their Prom and see them all so grown up, looking wonderful and really enjoying themselves. They were a really lovely year group. It was then brilliant to have so many back on site for the Sixth Form induction day, they seemed to have grown up overnight. With the calibre of our students, the sixth from will continue to go from strength to strength. This week, we also said a final goodbye to our Year 13s. I feel honoured to have been their headteacher throughout their seven-year journey. Every one of them is a success, either with outstanding predicted results, university offers or apprenticeship offers, or we are so proud that many have overcome barriers in their lives to become the most respectful and aspirational young people. They are role models and were such a ‘kind’ group. We were delighted that Mrs Wheaton made a return visit to say good-bye and brought her beautiful baby boy along for us to meet. The Prom in the evening was an equally lovely event. The feedback from the staff at the venue was that our students had been the best bunch they’d had this season. They described them as the most fun and polite group they had entertained. As I reflect on the excitement of their new beginnings, I want to praise and express gratitude to the staff here at the school. They always go the extra mile and are always on hand to support and have helped shape these wonderful young people of the future. The gratitude expressed by the students was tangible.
