Message from the Headteacher Dear Roding Valley High School Community As we reach the end of another successful academic year, I wanted to take this opportunity to share some of the wonderful events and achievements that have taken place across our school community in recent weeks. Almost two years into my time at Roding, I see the immense potential of the school and each student who walks through our doors. Over the next few years we are incredibly excited about the changes that we will make to further improve our fabulous school and maintain our status as the school of choice in the area.

Behind the scenes we have launched an Export Teaching Task Force to further refine our pedagogy, and ensure that we are at the forefront of educational research so that each and every student experiences the highest quality lessons. Our focus is currently on identifying the components of expert teaching in our unique context, and what we feel are the priorities to develop practice over the next few years. We believe that the work we are doing in this area will be transformative for our staff and students alike.

In other news, our Year 11 leavers assembly and prom provided a fitting celebration for our students who have worked so diligently throughout their GCSE and vocational examinations this summer. It was truly a fantastic day, witnessing so many brilliant students celebrating their achievements and the completion of this important milestone in their educational journey. The atmosphere was one of pride and accomplishment, reflecting the hard work and dedication these students have demonstrated throughout their time with us.

Following this celebration, we welcomed 170 students to our Year 12 taster day, which offered prospective sixth form students a comprehensive sample of what life in our sixth form entails. The day included a lovely barbecue, an informative careers fair, and some fantastic lessons that showcased the quality of teaching and learning opportunities available to our students. This event continues to be an excellent way for students to experience our sixth form environment and make informed decisions about their future educational pathway.
