Our Year 11 students have recently concluded their Pre-Public Examinations (PPEs). These assessments provide valuable practice for the upcoming GCSEs and offer insights into areas where further support may be needed. I commend our students for their dedication and hard work during this challenging period. Teachers have been busy assessing, marking and moderating and we will share the results with parents, carers and students over the next few weeks. In our ongoing commitment to nurturing leadership skills, our Sixth Form students have been actively engaged in mentoring younger students. This initiative not only benefits the mentees but also provides our older students with valuable experience and personal growth opportunities. Every Friday morning the mentoring takes place in Brook Library and it’s wonderful to see so many new and developing relationships emerging between our students. Thanks to all the year 12 students who have volunteered to take part in this. World Book Day was celebrated with enthusiasm across the school, promoting the joy of reading and the power of literature. It was wonderful to see the creativity and passion for books displayed by our students and staff alike.

Recently, a group of our students embarked on a poignant visit to the World War 1 memorial in Belgium. This educational trip provided a sobering reminder of the sacrifices made by previous generations and deepened our students' understanding of this crucial period in history. Looking ahead, we have several exciting events on the horizon. Our Duke of Edinburgh Gold Expedition participants will be setting off next week, facing new challenges and developing essential life skills. We wish them the best of luck in their endeavours.

In the coming weeks, our Year 12 students will be visiting the University of Southampton, offering them valuable insights into higher education options and university life. This trip forms an important part of our careers guidance programme, supporting our students in making informed decisions about their futures.
