• Myth 1: I have to call the agent on the sign.
• Understand that ANY agent can show and sell ANY listed property! It does not matter at all if the property is listed with a different company. All too frequently, we hear buyers commenting about a house being listed with someone else and thinking that they “have” to call the person on the sign. Such is NOT the case. You choose who you hire to be your agent.
• Myth 2: If I have an agent, it will cost me a lot of money.
• In some circumstances, a buyer’s agents are paid a % of the agreed listing commission out of the seller’s proceeds. If this is not the case, you still have options, and your agent can advise you if you encounter such a scenario. Purchasing a home without representation is possibly the biggest financial mistake you can make. Since buying a home is one of the largest purchases you will ever make, the real question to ask yourself is, “What will it cost me if I don’t have an agent?”
