MISS SCARLET ON MASTERPIECE, SEASON 7 The Thanksgiving weekend early Passport release of Miss Scarlet has become a bit of a household tradition in my family. What better way to take a break from the chaos of the holiday season than with a delightfully clever mystery show? In this final season, Miss Scarlet faces down a new set of professional and personal challenges that includes the arrival of an unexpected new crime boss in town. As the show’s avid fanbase already knows, Miss Scarlet combines the romance and lush costumes of a historical drama with the wit and careful construction of an Agatha Christie-esque whodunnit. I promise that the show brings Eliza Scarlet’s journey to a thrilling and satisfying close. You can catch up on all previous seasons now with Passport before the final season premieres on Sunday, November 29. —Emma Casley, TV Programming Manager Photo courtesy of MASTERPIECE.

Reservation Redemption

Broadchurch, Seasons 1–3

PROGRAM SCHEDULE

Crime and Punishment in America is a new four-part docuseries directed by Lynn Novick and executive produced by Ken Burns and Sam Pollard. It’s the first documentary project to comprehensively expand on the arguments Americans have had over the problem of crime, the purpose of punishment and the meaning of justice for more than 250 years. From the public hangings in Colonial America to FDR and Hoover’s war on crime to the silent corridors of today’s supermax prison facilities, each episode is grounded in the stories of how individual lives were shaped by the policies and politics of their time. To explore both the visible and invisible legacies of punishment in American life, tune in for the broadcast premiere on Monday, November 16, at 8pm on KQED 9 or through the PBS App.
