RAVENSWOOD SCHOOL FOR GIRLS IS A LEADING INDEPENDENT SCHOOL, EDUCATING STUDENTS FROM PREP TO YEAR 12, WITH BOARDING IN YEARS 7-12.
Ravenswood has been a leader in girls education for 125 years, with programs based on how girls learn. In the senior years, Ravenswood offers a choice of either the Higher School Certificate or International Baccalaureate IBDP.
Higher School Certificate results are exceptional, with the HSC Median ATAR consistently in the 90s. International Baccalaureate results are consistently exceptional, with medians in ATAR terms in the 90s, providing opportunities for students to study at universities in Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, and elsewhere.
Ravenswood has boarders originating from across Australia, and overseas, including Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Vietnam, Thailand, and Taiwan.

APPLYING
It is very important to plan for your son or daughter’s enrolment and arrival. Both Knox and Ravenswood have a small and established number of education agents, covering all countries. These are thoroughly professional, knowledgeable and efficient agents with whom both schools have worked for many years.
It is most important to have an agent, particularly to deal with visa applications, and ongoing communication. Both schools are happy to connect you to an agent if you do not have one.
You should apply as soon as possible, even if your son or daughter is not due to arrive in Year 7 for some years. Both schools are in very heavy demand and book out early. Your agent will assist you in this regard.
GETTING READY
We want boys and girls to engage fully with life at Knox or Ravenswood as soon as they arrive, so both schools require an AEAS test, though not necessarily at the time of application. We will work with you on the timetable. The AEAS result will allow us to plan any support/extra English your son or daughter will need, and the most helpful and appropriate pathway to school.
You can do an AEAS tests in most cities, and your agent will assist you with this.
Knox and Ravenswood partner with the Elite College of English (see separate box) for online and face-to-face High School Preparation courses, and maintain close contact and monitoring of progress, to ensure that every student is ready to start. ECE is close to both schools, so students can also have in-school experiences.
AT SCHOOL
Knox and Ravenswood offer full individual and group support from Year 7 through to Year 12. Specialist teachers provide support in the Boarding House, and an Academic Master coordinates all coaching and tutoring in Boarding.
Students in Years 7 and 8 have weekly catch-ups and individual sessions with specialist EALD teachers.
Academic English is offered as an Elective in Years 9 and 10, to ensure that students are fully prepared for senior study in all subjects, including English, in Years 11 and 12.
ATAR results are exceptional in all Higher School Certificate English courses, including EALD.
ECE PARTNERSHIP
The Elite College of English (ECE) complements the proud traditions and excellence of Knox and Ravenswood. Through carefully scaffolded curriculum, highly experienced teachers, and an emphasis on how to learn and how to lead, ECE helps student develop the resilience, discipline and academic readiness required to flourish at Knox and Ravenswood.
Online courses and the face-to-face High School Preparation courses are offered, in close partnership with Knox and Ravenswood.
THE PRINCETON REVIEW AUSTRALIA
The Princeton Review (PR) complements the support offered by Knox and Ravenswood to students who wish to study overseas. The expert team at PR delivers targeted university admissions planning, college essay guidance, and intensive SAT, ACT, and AP preparation, helping students translate their school achievements into international opportunities. The Princeton Review equips students with strategic clarity and the confidence to pursue global education.
