OBLAK Z vody vystupuje pára 1. Odtud se dělá výše oblak 2 a blízko země mlha 3 nebo rosa. Z oblaků kape déšť 4 a lijavec, zmrzlý se stává kroupami 5, polozmrzlý sněhem 6. Za dešťovým oblakem, postaveným naproti slunci, se jeví duha 7. Krůpěj padlá do vody činí bublinu 8, z mnoha bublin skládá pěnu 9. Zmrzlá voda se jmenuje led 10, zmrzlá rosa se nazývá jinovatka. Při bouřce šlehá z mraků blesk 11, jejž provází hřmění. Někdy udeří zvláště do vysokých předmětů.
THE CLOUD Vapour 1 rises from water and turns into clouds 2 high above, or fog 3 and dew near the ground. Rain 4 falls from the clouds and frozen downpours become hail 5, while half-frozen rains become snow 6. When the sun shines through the rain, a rainbow 7 appears. A falling drop of water may make a bubble 8, and a mass of air bubbles makes foam 9. Frozen water is called ice 10, frozen dew is known as hoar frost. During storms, bolts of lightning strike 11 from the clouds, accompanied by thunder. Lightning bolts may occasionally strike objects, especially tall ones.

práh 2, podvoj 3 a po obou stranách veřeje 4. Z jedné strany visí dveře 5 na stěžejích 6, z druhé je zámek 7 nebo závora 8. Podél domu bývá chodba 9, někdy podepřená sloupy 10, na nich jest hlavice ll a patice 12. Po schodech 13 se stoupá do poschodí. Zvenčí se ukazují okna 14 a mříže 15, pavlače 16 a arkýře 17, přístřešky 18 a pilíře 19 ku podpírání zdí. Nahoře je střecha 20, krytá prejzy 21 nebo šindelem 22, ležícím na latích 23, tyto pak na trámech 24. Se střechou je spojen okap 25. Na střeše jsou okénka 26, hřeben a korouhvičky 27.
THE HOUSE The entrance is at
the door 1. The door has a threshold 2 and a crossbar 3 flanked by doorposts 4. On one side, the leaf of the door 5 is hung on hinges 6, while the lock 7 or the latch 8 is on the opposite side. There may be an arcade alongside the house 9, sometimes supported by columns 10 with a capital ll and a base on them 12. The staircase 13 leads upstairs. Windows 14 and bars 15, balconies 16 and oriels 17, porches 18 and pillars 19 that support the walls can be seen on the outside of the house. The roof 20 is on top, covered in pantiles 21 or shingles 22, fixed to laths 23 attached to beams 24. A gutter is fastened to the roof 25. On the roof there are small windows 26, the roof ridge, and the weathercocks 27.
