Engineer Says It’s Time to Build the Twin Towers in Vintage Story
By: Niggarious Pontifex

In what some are calling the most ambitious sandbox project of the year, a self-proclaimed engineer from the Vintage Story community has announced plans to recreate the iconic Twin Towers—block by block—inside the unforgiving world of the survival game.
The player, known online as “ForgeMaster_Actual,” shared his proposal in a lengthy forum post late last night, outlining a vision that blends architectural precision with survival gameplay. “We’ve built farms, castles, entire cities,” he wrote. “It’s time we attempt something that truly tests the limits of both the engine and ourselves.”
According to the post, the project would involve not only constructing the towers at near-accurate scale, but also sourcing every material through legitimate survival methods. This means mining thousands of units of stone, smelting vast quantities of metal, and crafting structural components entirely by hand—no creative mode shortcuts allowed.
Community reactions have been mixed.
Some players are enthusiastic. “Honestly? I’m in,” one user replied. “If we can coordinate this, it could be one of the coolest builds ever attempted in Vintage Story.”
Others are more skeptical, citing the sheer scale and time investment required. “Do you realize how much flax we’d need just for scaffolding and materials transport?” another player commented. “This isn’t a weekend project. This is like… a life decision.”
ForgeMaster_Actual, however, remains undeterred. He has already begun drafting rough blueprints using in-game measurements and plans to organize a team of builders, miners, and logistics coordinators. Early estimates suggest the project could take months—if not longer—to complete.
“We’re not just building towers,” he added in a follow-up comment. “We’re building a monument to what players can accomplish when they commit to something ridiculous.”
At the time of writing, no official build server has been launched, but interest continues to grow. Whether the project becomes a legendary achievement or an abandoned megastructure remains to be seen—but one thing is certain:
Vintage Story players are once again proving that no idea is too big… or too insane.
