A Jersey, A Verse, A Reminder By the Editor With football season here, I recently came across a jersey that caught my attention. Across it were the words: “He Left the 99 to Save Me.” It’s a reference to Jesus’ parable of the lost sheep in Matthew 18:12-14 —the shepherd who leaves the 99 to go after the one that wandered away. It reminded me that, to God, every single person matters. No one is simply another number in the crowd. Then I came across another verse that seems especially tting as a new season begins: “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” — Mark 9:23 Football season will bring Friday night lights, wins and losses, celebrations and disappointments. But these words remind us there are things much bigger than a scoreboard. Believe. Have faith. Don’t give up. And remember—you matter to God. Sometimes a simple jersey can carry a pretty powerful message.
