This year, America celebrates a remarkable milestone—its 250th birthday. On July 4, 2026, our nation marks two and a half centuries since the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence, the document that forever changed the course of history. While major cities will host grand parades and spectacular reworks, it's often in small towns where the true spirit of America shines the brightest. Here in our community, patriotism isn't just something celebrated on the Fourth of July. It's found in neighbors helping neighbors after a storm, volunteers serving through churches and civic organizations, veterans sharing stories with younger generations, and families gathering at local parks, baseball elds, and Main Street events. Small towns have always been the heart of America. For 250 years, communities like ours have raised families, educated children, built businesses, worshiped together, and supported one another through both triumphs and hardships. The American story isn't written only in famous landmarks or history books—it continues to be written every day in places just like ours. This 250th anniversary offers an opportunity to re ect on where we've been and where we're headed.
