CO-OP EXPERIENCE Throughout the MEM Co-op program, you can spend 4 to 16 months gaining real world, paid experience in your field while working with leading employers in the private and public sectors. As the only Criminology program within the Western university system, students will examine how power and inequality shape the criminal legal system. Developing knowledge of the past is a key tool for navigating the present. Explore questions around social justice, colonialism, and public life, using an approach that connects history to the present. Politics shapes everything, from local communities to global trade and human rights to climate policy. Build a deep understanding of Canadian politics, law, and international relations while learning from faculty who don’t just study the world, but also work in advising governments, testifying before Parliament, and negotiating at the UN and World Trade Organization. In-class simulations put students in the room where decisions are made, while the Certificate in Law and Public Policy gives graduates a competitive edge for careers in law, government, and public policy. Graduates go on to careers in foreign service, law, government, NGOs, and graduate studies.

Psychology explores how people think, feel, learn, and behave. Through courses in areas such as mental health, neuroscience, social behaviour, and psychology and law, students develop strong research, analytical, and communication skills. Graduates are well prepared for careers in healthcare, education, social services, business, and graduate or professional studies.

Understand the “why” of the world. Make connections between individual experiences and the broader social structures that shape them, from addiction and poverty to the climate crisis, global inequality, and cyberbullying. It’s a critical, questioning approach to understanding how the world works and why it doesn’t always work equally. Complete an application through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) website at ouac.on.ca. King’s is listed under Western University within the OUAC site. While you can indicate program interests, King’s admits students to general first year, and you only need to apply to a program once.

All students who are not currently attending an Ontario Secondary School must upload their transcripts. Documents, transcripts, and English Language Test results can be uploaded directly to your King’s Applicant Portal. Extenuating Circumstances/Diverse Qualifications Admission King’s University College welcomes applicants who meet or are slightly below King’s minimum admission requirements, or who may be below the competitive average for a particular program and: Have experienced circumstances that impacted academic performance (Extenuating Circumstances), and/or have demonstrated commitment, excellence, or achievement in other endeavours or have succeeded in their studies amidst difficult circumstances (Diverse Qualifications Admission). To gain access to the supplementary Extenuating Circumstances/Diverse Qualifications Admission form, please email admissions@kings.uwo.ca. The Admission Committee considers submissions after the equal consideration date of July 15.

English Language Proficiency: If English is not your first language, you must provide proof of English language proficiency through an approved test or English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program. Test scores completed before January 1, 2025 will not be accepted. If your scores do not meet the direct entry requirements, you may be eligible for the Western English Language Centre (WELC). Program length varies based on your test scores. Students are automatically considered and no separate application is required.
