A message from the Mayor Kingston Arts launches its new live music program, Live at City Hall. We are excited to present a new live music program hosted in the iconic Kingston City Hall at Moorabbin. The program is set to draw some of Australia’s premier music acts to Melbourne’s south eastern suburbs, including Regurgitator, Kate Ceberano and Isaiah Firebrace. We invite the local community to enjoy live music once again, as we celebrate our vibrant music scene. Kingston is home to many talented performers, and we are also thrilled to attract musicians from all over Australia for the new star-studded Live at City Hall program, brining great live music more to our suburbs. With all the excitement of our live music program, we haven’t forgotten our avid theatre-goers and lovers of the visual arts with a fantastic range of exhibitions and performances to view and enjoy. Read on for details, and don’t forget to book early to avoid missing out. Why not make a night of it? Enjoy dinner and a show, hit the restaurants and bars in Moorabbin for cocktails and a bite to eat, and see what our local restaurateurs have to offer. Written with the permission of Rick Springfield and based on his autobiography Late, Late At Night, award-winning playwright, Kieran Carroll, brings Springfield’s amazing and compelling journey to life in this two act, one man musical play starring rising and acclaimed Sydney pop singer-actor, Jackson Carroll. Moving between the incredible stories and Springfield’s large body of hit songs over 50 years, Late, Late At Night traces Springfield’s Australian and British childhood, his early music days in Australia, his rollercoaster ride in 1970s America and the huge pop and acting successes of the 1980s. This is followed by his fall from public view, his mental health demise, and finally, the resurrection of Rick Springfield as an artist in the 21st century.
Late, Late At Night is the epic journey of a Parkdale boy whose journey to fame and fortune came with enormous personal costs.

Our Place The success of any collaboration is dependant on a myriad of factors, some obvious, others less tangible.
Sharon & Slava Grigoryan are an example of such a synergy, resulting in music that connects deeply with the listener. Perhaps it is their union professionally and in life that provides the intangible factor fuelling their passionate and sensitive performances. Their repertoire spans cultures, generations and genres – from standard works for guitar and cello (Vivaldi, Granados, Piazzolla) to creations by contemporary composers, their own compositions and arrangements which shine a new light on familiar favourites.

Singing up country with Kutcha Edwards From the wings of a darkened stage drifts the evocative, slightly haunting sound of clap sticks. A stoically paced figure slowly emerges singing in his traditional language. This mesmerising introduction heralds a performance by renowned Aboriginal singer/songwriter and proud Mutti Mutti, Yorta Yorta and Nari Nari man, Kutcha Edwards.

The Fish That Wanted to Fly By Little Wing Puppets Written by Jenny Ellis, Miriam Lieberman and Anne Brooksbank The Fish That Wanted to Fly is about having the courage to pursue something even if it seems likely you will never reach it.
Workshop
In our story we meet a little Fish whose lagoon is drying up. All the other fish have left, and she wants to learn how to fly so she can see them again. Her friend, a hermit crab named Karramoko, sits by a stormwater drain and tells her it will never happen. She meets a Kingfisher who helps her and encourages her to keep trying. It’s not until she meets a Cormorant, who offers to take her up into the sky that she flies for the first time. But will she make it back? The tale is set in a mangrove swamp, and is about friendship, resilience and sustainability.
Explore the world of shadows with Little Wing Puppets in this exciting new projection project. Combining human silhouettes and puppets, we will make a colourful underwater world to be displayed on Kingston Arts’ Bridge Projection Space. Come along to make your own sea creature puppet and have fun playing with your shadow on our giant screen. The silhouettes will be filmed and your shadows will be projected large-scale for the Kingston community to enjoy.
