About Terra Spencer
Bad ideas, VCRs, crumbling factories, hairy dogs, questionable tattoos...all are fair game for funeral director-turned-songwriter (and newly-minted 2026 Canadian Folk Music English Songwriter of the Year) Terra Spencer. And the songs are good ones, judging from the accolades her four albums have received, and the caliber of collaborators like Matt Andersen, Dave Gunning, and David Francey, who welcomed Terra as a co-writer and performer on his JUNO-winning album 'The Breath Between'. Cinematic storytelling is a hallmark of many great Canadian folk songwriters, but in Terra's case, it is charged with the wood-paneled '70s warmth of Elton John, Karen Carpenter, and Jackson Browne. As a fun-loving and fearless solo performer, Terra has played some of Canada's most renowned festival stages, including Mariposa, Stan Rogers Folk Festival, and Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival, where her Maritime waltz "Lunenburg Moon" has become an unofficial anthem. Think Steve Poltz and Carole King's East Coast cousin. Terra grew up as an only child on the banks of the Avon River with the world’s highest tides, surrounded by country music. As a shy teen, she took refuge in her grandparents' basement where she played Broadway show tunes on a battleship upright piano, learning guitar in secret from her granddad's Chet Atkins records. Her passion for songwriting came much later, after being hired on as a backup singer while scooping ice cream at a festival by country performer Ryan Cook. Their travels set the stage for Terra's solo debut in 2018, blooming into a career that quickly overshadowed her funeral ambitions, taking her across Canada and to the US, UK, and Germany. Her solo fourth album 'Sunset' was named the 2024 Penguin Eggs Album of the Year (alongside Julian Taylor's 'Pathways') and 2025 Music Nova Scotia Folk/Roots Recording of the Year, and garnered her a CFMA nomination for 2026 Solo Artist of the Year. It features guests from East to West, including Matt Andersen and Stephen Fearing. Although her butterscotch voice, deft fingerstyle guitar, and gospel-charged piano make her a formidable musician, it's her onstage ease, spirited spontaneity, and crackling East Coast wit that make each show feel like a knee-to-knee conversation in a room of 5 or 500, on either side of the Atlantic.
About Kim Dunn
Born and raised in North Sydney, Cape Breton, and living just outside of Halifax, Nova Scotia, multi award winning musician Kim Dunn has been working on a successful music career for over 40 years now, with a brief four year reprieve studying Jazz at ST. FX. In addition to producing, musical directing and arranging credits, Kim has worked with the who’s who of East coast artists including, Rita MacNeil, Bruce Guthro, Laura Smith, Matt Anderson, Heather Rankin, Catherine MacLellan, Dave Gunning, George Canyon, Matt Minglewood, Meaghan Smith, and many others. Kim is a 2016 Music Nova Scotia Award winner and in 2003 was the recipient of the first ever Musician Special Achievement East Coast Music Award, given not on the basis of votes but rather a selective process on the part of the Industry – an honor indeed to have been chosen in the year of the awards inception. After playing on countless cd’s of other artists, Kim decided to bring his own special brand of songwriting and singing to the foreground in 2010 with the release of his first solo recording project, TAKE THIS HAMMER, and again in the spring of 2016 with his much anticipated follow up album, INSPIRATION. INSPIRATION picks up where TAKE THIS HAMMER left off and as with its predecessor, offers listeners an indelible collection of well crafted, heartfelt songs anchored by a soulful pitch-perfect tenor delivery and incomparable musicianship. His biggest asset has always been versatility and he has implemented this feature prominently on these self-produced works, blending elements of Jazz, Blues, Pop, Folk & Country. Kim has performed his music with Symphony Nova Scotia, has received national exposure on ‘CBC’s Canada Live’, and featured regionally on ‘Atlantic Airwaves/East Coast Hour & All The Best’. He has successfully showcased at the ‘East Coast Music Awards’, ‘Nove Scotia Music Week’ and notably, ‘Contact East’. He has also performed his music at various festivals throughout the country and continues to do so. Personal highlights include having had the chance to meet and work with Alison Krauss, Peter Gzowski, Philip Glass, and performing at the Montreal Jazz Festival. Kim has traveled and performed in the United States, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, and has toured extensively throughout Canada. His immediate plans for the future involve doing more shows of his own, but plans to remain actively involved and busy with his other musical ties as well.

KING’S THEATRE King's Theatre was built in 1921 by Arthur M. King, and has been at the heart of Annapolis Royal’s cultural community for over 100 years.
