are counted among the top-class international guitar duos, receiving enthusiastic reviews from all over the world.
Canadian Dale Kavanagh and her German partner Thomas Kirchhoff have made up the Amadeus Guitar Duo since 1991. The secret of their success, regularly documented by more
than 70 concerts per year, is the complete devotion of the two artists to their instrument. Hence they did not limit themselves to playing as a duo, but began to concentrate on the repertoire for guitar and orchestra. Thanks to their commitment, this genre was soon able to emerge from its niche.
In more than 100 cities, they played their "Spanish Night" recital, featuring concertos for one, two and four guitars and orchestra by Joaquin Rodrigo and the world-famous panpipe player Gheorghe Zamfir and they are considered as the specialists for works for guitars and orchestra.
The Amadeus Guitar Duo has so far appeared in more than 1.800 concerts in some 70 countries. The duo has always been able to delight its audience with its exuberant temperament, virtuoso performance, sensitive creative power and a fulsome, warm, carrying guitar tone.
In 1992 they founded the International Guitar Symposium in Iserlohn, which is today one of the most important festivals of its kind in Europe, with more than 300 participants from more than 50 countries, concerts featuring world-famous stars, master courses, lectures, exhibitions and many other activities

EUGENE CORMIER is in high demand as a solo performer, chamber musician, accompanist, studio musician, adjudicator, and as a teacher.
Born in Corner Brook Newfoundland, Eugene received his Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar Performance from Acadia University under the guidance of Ken
Davidson. After completing his degree he travelled to Toronto, where he continued his guitar studies under the tutelage of world renown guitar teacher Eli Kassner. He has also attended masterclasses/studied with: David Russell, David Tanenbaum, Alvaro Pierri, Pavel Steidl, Dale Kavanagh, Hubert Kappel, Bruce Holzman & Stephen Robinson.
Eugene is currently a full time instructor at the Acadia University School of Music in Wolfville Nova Scotia and currently teaches Classical Guitar, Guitar Ensemble, Rock History, Music Technology and Music Theory. He has adjudicated many festivals including the Canadian National Music Festival and given masterclasses at many guitar festivals including the Montreal Guitar Competition, Sauble Beach Guitar Festival and Iserlohn Guitar Symposium (Germany).
His guitar students are frequently top prize winners in many competitions. In 2019 Eugene was nominated for a Music Nova Scotia Award for Classical Recording of the Year, and won an East Coast Music Award for Classical Composition of the Year along with Derek Charke for Ex Tempore, the title track off The Charke-Cormier Duo’s debut CD. In his spare time Eugene enjoys performing with Derek Charke in the Charke Cormier Duo and with the newly formed Annapolis Guitar Quartet along with Dale Kavanagh, Thomas Kirchhoff and Matthew Martin, as well as spending his summers on the south shore of Nova Scotia sailing around with friends.

MATTHEW MARTIN, born and raised in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, first picked up the guitar at age 15. He spent the next two years learning as much as he could about playing electric and acoustic guitar, then began classical guitar lessons with Acadia University professor Eugene Cormier.
A year later, he won the top prize - The Senior Rose Bowl – in the Corner Brook Rotary Music Festival. He is the only classical guitarist to have ever won that award (usually dominated by vocalists and pianists). This event marked a significant place in his development and passion for playing classical guitar.
He has a degree in Classical Guitar from Acadia University, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Performance from the Koblenz International Guitar Academy in Germany.
Five time winner of Senior & Outstanding Guitar at the Annapolis Valley Music Festival
Four time winner of the Nova Scotia Provincial Music Festival, Guitar category
2nd place at the Canadian National Music Festival in 2009
He has attended several guitar festivals both in Canada and Germany over the last few years and had the privilege of attending masterclasses with some of the world’s leading guitar players and teachers.
He currently spends his time teaching out of his studio in Kentville, Nova Scotia and performing for various events throughout the Annapolis Valley and across the Maritimes.

King's Theatre was built in 1921 by Arthur M. King, and has been at the heart of Annapolis Royal’s cultural community for over 100 years. In recent years we have completed more than $2 million in facility upgrades that includes new lighting, cinema projection, video capture, and sound -- you can expect crystal clear audio for both live shows and movies.
King’s Theatre’s mandate is to be a catalyst for creativity, social connection, learning, and excellence. Presenting live performances yearround, we offer all genres of music, theatre, contemporary dance, comedy, and spoken word. On screen there’s every kind of cinema, from blockbusters and indies to stage-toscreens. We offer workshops and opportunities for local residents to experience performing on stage, with a special emphasis on youth. With more than 200 events a year, King’s Theatre is one of the busiest small theatres in Canada.
