Of course they have If we really tried—Rowing—the Band— complaints. almost anything can be criticized and the fault laid at somebody's door. But when we review the term as a whole it gives an impression, like the weather, of being " fine." O.V. week-end again was attended with great success. Who can remember an entirely wet Speech-Day? This year the order of events was changed. The O.T.C. Inspection was held on Friday morning, instead of Saturday, while the O.V. Cricket Match was extended, to become a whole day affair. This arrangement was more satisfactory both for the School and for the O.V.s. The void of Friday morning, usually spent in futile inactivity, was filled, and the prospect of a whole-day cricket match attracted many O.V.s from longer distances, who previously had not found it worth their while to come down merely for a short afternoon's cricket. The only suggestion that might be made concerning this arrangement is that, next year, play might begin a little earlier, while the interval for lunch might be considerably shortened. On Friday afternoon the prizes were distributed by Cyril Bailey, Esq., a Governor of the School, and Public Orator of Oxford University Our enjoyment of his speech was mixed with regret at hearing afterwards from the Dean himself the first announcement of his retirement.
