There has been a tendency on the part of most editors of this magazine, ourselves included, to turn the Editorial into Meteorological Office report. The only excuse that can be offered for this failing is that school life is often entirely dominated by the state of the weather. This term, however, it has been exceptionally fine, and on occasions almost uncomfortably hot, and the School has consequently benefited by it. The Eleven have had a more than usually successful season, profiting no doubt by the greater opportunities for practice. The School also has enjoyed a great number of extra half-holidays, one of which was spent on an excursion to Woodbury Hill, where the bluebells are always a fine sight in May. Curiously enough the weather did not live up to its reputation for Speech-Day and the O.V. week-end, which has been extremely hot, almost without exception, throughout the last few years. On the morning of Inspection-Day, when people usually get sunstroke, rain fell intermittently, while in the afternoon the cricket match was interrupted by a thunderstorm. There was a last-minute alteration in the programme for Speech-Day, since Cyril Bailey, Esq., one of the Governors of the School, who was to have given away the prizes, was taken ill. The Principal of Hertford College, Oxford, C. R. Cruttwell, Esq., very kindly took his place. A welcome and most popular innovation this term has been the formation of a School Light Orchestra, which has
