Now that we are faced once more with the task of writing an editorial and, moreover, an editorial at the end of the Christmas Term, we not unnaturally turn our thoughts back to what our worthy predecessors have said before us. With very few exceptions we find that they relate the qgonies they have suffered at the thought of the task before them. Then they accuse the Christmas term of " stodginess " and finally they complain about the floods. We have decided to take a drastic step. We will break this ancient custom and admit that we have had no nightmares or other afflictions that are supposed to assail editors. We will not say that the Christmas term is dull because we feel it is a term of great activity. And lastly we will not complain about the floods because there have not been any.

The King's Scholarship Examination was held as usual in November and as there were only two Scholarships vacant this year several promising scholars were disappointed. Five learned gentlemen are shortly departing from our midst to take the Scholarship examinations to the Universities. As regards Rugger, we have had a record season. The ist XV have only lost two matches and have gained all their victories by considerable margins. We congratulate both XV "s on their excellent performances. Also we heartily congratulate the Band on winning the Band Competition at Camp. Ev«n the weather has been kind to us and has hardly hindered our games at all. On the whole a very satisfactory term.
