Softool notes. Many as the changes in the School have been, perhaps the greatest is the change in numbers. Nine more and we should total 200! * * * Mr. Morgan, who has just been gazetted to the $th S. Staffs., has been visiting the School and taking a class. We take this opportunity of expressing our thanks to him for all he did for the School in connection with the O.T.C., which he brought to a remarkable degree of efficiency, to which all our inspecting officers testified. Our Army candidates, too, who were completely successful, owe much to him ; not only their 400 " efficiency marks," but to a large extent, their place in examination. We welcome Rev. R. Allen in his place as senior classical master. * * * Mr. Powell, whose loss will be especially felt by rowers, is, we are very sorry to hear, lying ill at Tarentum ; we express our sympathy with Mrs. Powell, and hope he will soon recover. Rev. H. Hughes takes his place both in rowing and as Minor Canon in the Cathedral. Some of us can remember Mr. Hughes as rowing master at Hereford. Mr. Hughes also comes to us as O.C. of the Corps, from Clifton, where he was in command of a company. * * #
