Softool Rotes. " Books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything." Paraphrase it as we may, how few of us (and of the citizens of the Faithful City) were led by our imagination, a year ago, to picture the College Green so verdant with potatoes, artichokes and beans! Where stood those stately elms, lettuce and turnips grow. The hours of really hard work last term appear now in neatly planted lines of flourishing vegetables. * * * Farming squads have already made their appearance, and we hope to accomplish much before the end of the term when, we have reason to believe, an agricultural camp will be formed. * * * The School in general, but especially rowers, have suffered a heavy loss on account of Mr. Rowntree joining up with the R.E.'s. We wish him every success, and offer him our heartiest thanks for all he has done for the School. We welcome Mr. Taylor, late Headmaster of Chichester Grammar School, in his place. * * * The first four worked like Trojans last term, as they always do, but Troy was not besieged. Magdalen College School scratched the race at the last moment.
