'E imagine that the year 1910 will be remembered as rather an "annus mirabilis" First and foremost will be valued the foundation—and a most auspicious foundation—of the Officers' Training Corps. Without incurring the charge of undue exaggeration we may say with perfect truth that the Corps has fully justified its existence. Thanks to the energy of Captain Fenton and the cheery, though stern, rebukes of SergeantInstructor Burton, we gained an excellent report from the Inspecting Officer, Captain Fulton, in July. As regards Camp at Aldershot in August, we established a sound reputation both for smartness and steadiness upon parade, and tidyness in lines ; moreover we were third in the tent-pitching competition, and gained a prize for drumming. This, we think, is no bad record for a company only one of whom had ever been to Camp before : we were all totally inexperienced
