literary labour once more. After the protracted drought Mother Earth has slaked her burning, thirst in the gracious rain, and colds and coughs, the inevitable accompaniments of such climatic transitions, now have ceased their sway.
Although we cannot claim any honours for the School in the shape of Scholarships,—no* candidates having been sent up,—yet we have the satisfaction of being able to record that the Sixth and Fifth Forms acquitted themselves creditably in the Certificate Examinations. In. the Higher Certificate two distinctions were gained, by Beauchamp and Barker, in Mathematics and Scripture respectively, while eight passes were obtained. Only seven Lower Certificates were won—a smaller number than usual—but they included nineteen first classes,, the majority of which were Mathematical, in. contrast to the results of former years.
