We think it one of our first duties to most heartily congratulate H. Raymond on winning an £80 Open Scholarship at Pembroke College, Oxford. It is one of the best classical successes that the School has had for some years. He had previously won the Meeke Scholarship, which of course he resigns. * * # Once more it is our unhappy lot to have to record another defeat in the boat-race at Hereford. But on this occasion we feel justified in bringing forward excuses, for just before training began, we lost our Captain of Boats through illness. We offer him our sympathies, though
