entered for the London Matriculation, 11 will compete for the Higher Joint Board Certificate, and 16 for the Lower. Besides this the whole School will be inspected on July 4th and 5th and examined at the end of the Term. .* * * Our Cricket prospects at the beginning of the Term were most encouraging. We had seven of our last year's eleven with us and what is perhaps more important, three weeks of fine weather in which to get the eleven in working order before the actual season began. *
JT is to be hoped that the School will be as successful this Term as it was in the Summer Term last year. Unfortunately last year's unbeaten cricket record has now been spoiled by a loss at the hands of the Worcestershire Club and Ground. The first few matches shewed how much we needed the mainstays of our last season's bowling, Dickson and Williams. Without any disparagement to our present bowlers we may safely say that it will be long before we shall have bowling to come up to last season's standard. We have now to rely more on our batting and fielding to win matches ; in the latter department there is room for improvement.
