instil fresh vigour and renewed strength into the Four chosen to uphold the honour of the school; fearing at other times lest the possession of but one of last year's Boat would perhaps be the indirect cause of another defeat at the hands of our rivals at Hereford. # # * But, happily, our most sanguine hopes were realized, mainly owing to the indefatigable exertions of Mr. Allison and the most excellent manner in which he coached the Boat. On account of this victory, we are in the proud position to state that the school is again level with Hereford Cathedral School, each having won the race five times. We hope that, encouraged by this success, next season's Four will again win this time-honoured contest, although we learn that only one member of the crew will then be with us. We are especially sanguine in our hopes, as the race will be held on our own waters. * * * In the events of last term, only a few days elapsed after the boat race at Hereford before the annual Sports and Regatta were held.
