(Bitorral. jNOTHER year is gone—the old year, with all its enjoyments and pleasures has passed away for ever, and the new year has come to bring happiness to most of us. With the new year we have begun a new term, and have again met together for a fresh period of work and play. Every fresh term it is our duty to bring out a fresh edition of the "Vigornian." Let us hope that in this new year it will rival and excel the " Vigornian " of last

year. Of course most of the responsibility rests on the shoulders of the editors, who, like the helmsman on a ship, must keep to their post and do their duty or the whole ship will come to ruin. But the editors alone cannot make a school magazine successful; that rests with the boys too. If the boys will contribute articles and stories, either pictorial or accounts of their own expeditions, then the magazine will flourish and be popular. And so may we ask all our readers during this new year to support the " Vigornian " by their contributions as well by merely buying and reading it. Then, if all the boys back up the editors well, and in the words of Demosthenes "navO' a irpoo-fJKe Trpo.TTovo-1, " the " Vigornian " will earn a just name for its excellence, and even if it be not the best school magazine in England, at least will be "primus inter pares." As regards athletics we won four out of ten matches at football last term, ending up with a couple of wins against Luckton and the Old Vigornians. We hoped to win both matches against Hereford, but " Dis aliter visum." The Annual Concert was held last term and was a great success. The praise for this is mainly due to
