Cbitorial. rAIN we have before us the task of composing an editorial, a task which confronts the editors in all its vastness whenever a new issue looms ahead. Many suggestions have been made as to the mode of starting, one of which was " Leave it out altogether." But no really conscientious person could edit a paper without an editorial. Therefore we beg our readers

In our last number we had to complain of the scarcity of contributions from members of the school. We are glad to say that some of them are at last awaking to the fact that the Magazine is not merely to be read, but also to be supported by voluntary contributions. Last season's cricket was not so successful as was anticipated. However, comparing it with last year's performance, we can safely say that on the whole there was an improvement in the fielding, although on some occasions it was very feeble; but our batting and bowling were both weaker than last season's. As to matches we sometimes showed good form, but too often collapsed altogether. Again we have to thank the masters for their assistance in matches, and Mr. Rammell especially for his indefatigable efforts in the practise field. Football this term has started well. We have had very good weather up to the present time, and have been able to avail ourselves of every opportunity for
