(Euitoml. £HEN we last wrote our hands shook, and, in Homeric parlance, our glorious limbs were loosened under us, in fear of the approaching certificate examination. Now we can afford to look back and wonder what there was in it after all to inspire us with such terrible awe. As the results have been fully discussed elsewhere, we shalHdo nothing more here than offer the representatives of the School our congratulations on coming so well through the ordeal.

An event of importance to the School was the announcement of the decision arrived at by the Charity Commissioners, who gave it as their opinion that the Schools had better remain as they have been in times past. This response, however, did not please some people, and amongst them, mirabile dictu, Mr. Labouchere, who criticised it in Parliament. Receiving but little support there, he afterwards, in his organ "Truth," attacked the action of the Commissioners, in a somewhat virulent and entirely uncalled for manner. At present, we believe the " Schools question " is about to be laid before the Town Council. We should like to remind the School that, owing to the formation of a carpentering class, the cases for the Museum may shortly be commenced. As cases without contents will not be of much use, we hope that boys who have any particular hobby will set about making collections of objects to put in the Museum, when it is ready. It is with great regret that we observe in some parts of the School a lamentable lack of esprit de corps. We should like to ask those individuals
