Kingfisher Leadership news Selah - the power of the pause Selah. That's not a word you hear very something is released in the heavenly realm that changes things in the earthy realm. There is power often. It's not an English word, in the pause. We need to learn to pause. Even obviously. It's a Hebrew word that is heaven pauses: used 74 times in the Bible - 71 times in the book of Psalms and 3 "When the Lamb broke the seventh seal, there times in Habakkuk. was silence in heaven for about half an hour." (Revelation 8:1, NLT) Because the vast majority of the times the word is Selah: Pause If heaven feels the need to pause , then so used is in Psalms, you can should we! Pause to do what? Well, three to reflect, to be pretty sure that it is a things: reflect, praise and agree. There is praise and to musical term, and, in fact power in reflection, there is power in agree. As we praise and there is power in agreement. In this is a musical term this issue, we are touching on the power of ‘selah’ meaning 'pause'. Either it reflection. was for the music to pause Kingdom and for the singers to power is "Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I continue unaccompanied, never forget the good things he does for released me." (Psalms 103:2 NLT) or for the singers to pause for a musical interlude. But as with most things in the Bible, there is more to this than is apparent at that first glance. The more you dig into this word, Selah, the more meaningful, the richer it becomes. It turns out that Selah does, indeed, mean pause...but it means far more than just pause in a musical context. God calls us to pause for a reason...for a number of reasons, in fact. It turns out that pausing is one of the most powerful things we can do. When we selah...when we pause...
May I never forget. Four words that spell out the difference between faith and fear. • May I never forget that miraculous provision. • May I never forget that answered prayer, that healing, that amazing turn of events. May I never forget. But I will, unless I bank that memory somewhere safe and allow it to grow and develop my trust in Jesus Christ for the next time. What do those four words mean in your life? May I never forget. may you never forget… what?

What are YOU trusting him for right now? Pause and reflect on this. Beyond the doubt and the pain of waiting lies the issue of God's character. Not his ability. Not his interest. Not even his feelings about you. His character. He is a God who keeps his word. He is a God who is well able to say 'no' and say it loud and clear, and so if he hasn't said a loud and clear 'no', there is every reason to believe that the 'yes' is on its way. In fact, whenever your circumstances say 'no' or the outcome before your eyes says 'no', you are one step closer to God's 'yes'. How do you keep yourself positive until the 'yes' comes? Selah...you pause and reflect. Not on the circumstances and not on the thing you are so desperately hoping for or needing, but on the character of God. Just like a character in the OT called Jehoshaphat did. When faced with a desperate situation that threatened to wipe Israel off the face of the map, he turned to God and poured out his heart to him. Then he had one of those Selah moments. It is recorded in 2 Chronicles 20. Here are the highlights of the Selah moment:
"O Lord, are you not...O our God did you not...O our God will you not...?" (2 Chronicles 20:6-12, NASB)

Reflect - O Lord, are you not? Remind
yourself of his character. Remember - O our God, did you not? Remember what he has done in the past. Reimmerse yourself in faith. Restate - O our God will you not? Restate your trust in him. He is the Lord, he does not change. (Malachi 3:6,NLT)
Selah - the power of reflection. Offer Jesus Christ a Selah moment and just see what he will do with it!

Cyclone Idai Over the past month, Cyclone Idai has made its devastating presence felt in Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. At least 750 people have been killed, entire villages have been swept away, hundreds of thousands of people are homeless and survivors are stranded, often perched in trees or on roofs. An estimated 2.5 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance according to the Disasters Emergency Committee. Although difficult to assess the full impact of the disaster, our National Director has sent an initial report:
Many houses has collapsed and killing people while they were sleeping. In Kingfisher church many members have affected. At the centre 12 families have displaced. 23 families at Mulanje have no homes. 16 families in Nsanje District have lost their homes. These are members of Kingfisher Church. We are very busy working in groups to support the affected families as members of Kingfisher. Please! Pray for us also if the Lord provide you for supporting these family, please! Do it as the Lord guide you. Here are the photos about this situation. Little is currently known about the situation in Mozambique in terms of Kingfisher churches. However, aid is already being sent in response to Charles’s cry for help. Kingfisher in the UK has sent a donation from our with giving, and churches in Spain have also responded with financial aid. James is heading out to Malawi later this month and will get a more detailed report while he is out there. Let’s be praying for the whole region, and especially for Charles in Malawi and Fuloresi in Mozambique as they organise the responses in their own countries.
