Kingfisher International Family is 25 years old! We reached our Silver Jubilee on 5th January. Those years have flown by and we have seen so much evidence of the goodness of God - thousands brought to faith in Christ around the world, whole communities impacted by the Gospel, lives changed eternally, healing and wholeness for so many. As we reach our Silver Jubilee year and look forward to the years ahead, I believe that the Lord is challenging us to grow and mature in three particular areas, namely: Authority, Spiritual Warfare and the true meaning of Jubilee.
2018 - the year we take the fight to the enemy!
As Kingfisher continues to grow and expand around the world, we are increasingly encountering opposition from the kingdom of darkness and so there is an urgent need to grow and mature in our understanding of our authority in Christ, how to engage in spiritual warfare and how we can see people set free, restored and rejoicing in their newfound freedom.
Throughout the International Family we are going to be looking at these three areas and we are going to be responding to God’s challenge to grow in each one.
May this year, 2018, be the year when we come into a true understanding of our authority, may we take the fight to the enemy and may we be released, restored and choose to rejoice in this year!

Introducing: The 2018 International Day of Prayer

Latest update from the Philippines It was just a year ago that we launched the Dumagat Education Program, a program to enable children of the Dumagat tribe in northern Philippines to get an education. Whilst a basic education is provided by the government, materials such as exercise books, pens, pencils, bags etc are the responsibility of the family, as is food and lodging. The money raised by the DEP allows nearly 30 children to receive that education - some in their village at the top of the mountain and some in the nearby town of Sibug, which is at the bottom of the mountain.
For just £5 per month, we can make a real difference in the lives of these young people, and it is get to be able to report that we are now able to send £270 per month to Aileen (the local school teacher) and Nelia (a trusted and mature Christian) who administer this fund on our behalf.
This Christmas, many of the DEP students were given the treat of spending a day at a large shopping mall and having a meal at a JollyBee (the Philippine version of McDonalds) … a first for many of them!
Meanwhile, the toilet and kitchen block that the DEP is building for the students and their families who attend Sibug Elementary school is just about finished, which means the families can move onto the land and have somewhere secure to live during the week as the children attend school.
And finally, the ginger seeds we provided back in May 2017 are growing really well, and will soon be harvested with a view to being replanted to provide a bigger crop for next year. Then in year 3, the Dumagat will begin selling the harvest, providing a steady income for the years ahead.

“Whatever you do for the least of these…” - the aid work continues in Mozambique
2017 has been a year of great highs and lows for Kingfisher in Mozambique. The 2017 Harvest Appeal saw over £2700 raised to buy bibles and mosquito nets, to combat a lack fo the Word of God and a malaria crisis in the land. 100 bibles and 100 family sized mosquito nets were bought and are currently being distributed amongst some of the poorest people.The average annual income in Mozambique is around £140, with 54% of the country living below the poverty line. Pastors are unable to afford bibles and there were around 5.5 million cases of malaria in 2014, with that figure rising year on year. This Harvest Appeal has been such a blessing to so many in this land!
However, in October the centre that was built in 2013 and that provides such a vital service to so many in the community experienced a big setback. High winds and rain tore the roof off the building. This building is used as a worship centre, a school house, a training centre, provides sanctuary for refugees displaced by the civil war This really is a vital building. We have been able to provide some emergency assistance to at least get the repair work underway for the roof, and Charles Mithowa will be coordinating this from Malawi.

Kingfisher International Family News Welcome to Fellowship Of The King! Kingfisher International family has, for the past 17 years been spreading out around the world, and 2017 saw the welcome inclusion of two new countries into the family - Macao in China and Spain in Europe.
The Fellowship of the King is a church planting initiative in Spain. Stretching from Granada to Salobrena, to Almunecar, Nerja, Mojacar and Albox, FOTK began life nearly 20 years ago with a single congregation planted by Leslie and Chris Thomas.

It has since spread out to six locations, principally ministering to the ex-patriot communities in those areas. In recent times, FOTK, along with the rest of Spain has encountered significant challenges with the recession causing high levels of unemployment, necessitating the return home of many South Americans who had settled in Spain and were attending FOtK churches. Brexit has also caused a great deal of uncertainty among ex-pats, as well as the weakening of the pound.
The founding pastors - Leslie and Chris Thomas - are responding to all call from God to move from Spain to Belfast in Northern Ireland, to start a new ministry there, called Bethesda. They will be providing support, prayer and wisdom for those who are called to serve God in various ways. In the light of this, the time was felt to be right to ask Kingfisher Family to provide oversight and support to FOTK as they look to the future and we are glad to be able to do that. As a first step in this, James spent a weekend with many representatives from each church and led a conference on ‘Preparing for Revival’ in November of 2017.
We look forward to developing the relationship with FOTK in 2018 and discovering how God is going to bring blessings out of this new relationship!

Meeting key people in the International Family  Photos of Charles Mithowa Over the past two editions of the International Newsletter, we have had the opportunity of in Mobile Uploads getting to know some of the key figures in the International Family. In this edition, we are focussing on the longest-serving of our National Directors, Charles Mithowa. Chalres Mithowa was commissioned as National Director for Kingfisher in Malawi in 2008. We first met Charles whilst on a visit to Malawi in 2006. At that time, Charles was a young pastor of an independent house church, meeting in the front room of his own house. He had been asked by the group of pastors who were welcoming our team to accompany them, and it was during this visit that we began to get to know him and recognise God’s had of anointing on him. We could see that Charles not only had a gift of leadership, but that God was growing him into wider role - one of overseeing not only his own, local church, but overseeing other churches in Malawi. With the help and guidance of Kingfisher, Charles built a leadership training centre at Limbe, just outside of Blantyre in the south of Malawi, where he trains and equips new and up-coming church leaders. He is currently developing a second training centre in Dedze, which is in the central region of Malawi, as well as mentoring the National Director of Kingfisher in Mozambique.

He is married to Regina, and his eldest son, Andrew has followed in his footsteps and was ordained as pastor of the church centre at Limbe in 2017.

Announcing the 4th Kingfisher Family International Day of Prayer. On SUNDAY, JUNE 10th, join with thousands of other believers around the world for a day of life-changing, faith-building, world-impacting prayer. 2017 saw up to 10,000 believers from the UK to the Philippines united in passionate, believing prayer for our nations and for this world, and we are still experiencing the aftershocks of this powerful event. God promise in His Word: “How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron's beard, down on the collar of his robe.It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the LORD bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.” (Psalm 133, NIV) The 2018 International Day of Prayer is our most strategic event yet, with more people than ever passionately interceding for our nations, for His Church, for our world in the authority that He has given us, taking the battle to the kingdom of darkness with the weapons He has given us, believing for miracles to happen as a result. Every part of the Kingfisher International Family is vital for IDOP 2018. Every believer. Every ministry. Every church. Wherever you are on Sunday, June 10th, let us ‘..pray with holy hands lifted up to God (1 Timothy 2:8) and let us believe for great breakthroughs.
