Much to my amazement, with the use of chalkboard hand-drawn animation, the caricaturist Émile Cohl conjures up the stick figure of an agile and pliable clown as heencountersaplethoraofevershifting objects. Without a doubt, the transformations seem endless, in an attempt that is considered to be the very first animated cartoon. sporting a length of just under 2 minutes, I would say it still holds up to this day as an artist’s stream-ofconsciousness trip. Cohl apparently drew each frame on paper and shot each frame onto negativefilm, whichgaveitakind of blackboard look. That’s what theinternetsaysatleast.

Walt Disney’s Snow White was the first completely handdrawn film and the first feature-length animation to
become successful and well-known fairytale story Directed by David Hand, released in December 21, 1937
It was praised by critics and audience made Walt’s production raised financially Due to the success of Snow White, Disney put their focus more and more on similar projects, creating all the classic animated movies everyone knows and loves
The animation was produced using cel animation, a great method at the time As known as Celluloid, is a transparent sheet, to draw scene of character movements this technique allowed animations to overlay characters on a fixed, handpainted background, and reducing the amount of work to the need of redrawing the entire scenes
Under Walt disney innovative vision the film became the first to utilize the multiplane camera A revolutionary tool in animation it is a stack of multiple painted layers of backgrounds to create an illusion depth and dynamic movement to come alive by giving the far beyond the flat, a scrolling effects. That gives the impression of a character moving in one whole scene.
Now you ever wondered the details and the expressive lifelike manner goes so hard that cost a lot of time and money to have that sustain fluid animation? this technique was used rotoscoping (tracing live-action footage). the commitment to pushing the boundaries of animation, they wanted to enchanted the way of storytelling and immerse the audiences in which cost greatly
snow white is portrayed as kind and beautiful, can talk with animals like any other older Disney’s princess film but she lacks the depth beyond her traits she is a passive character whose fate depends entirely on others, particularly the dwarfs and the prince speaking of prince, the love story upon lifting Snow White’s curse was set to be quite unrealistic There were no development and mention about this prince other then plays a critical role to be destine as her charming knight. Overall in the past now I see that I enjoyed the film for its happy ending ever after. A memorable of traditional story made as a common trope
‘The first duty of the cartoon is not to picture or duplicate real action or things as they actually happen but to give a caricature of life and action to picture on the screen things that have run thru the imagination of the audience to bring to life dream-fantasies and imaginative fancies that we have all thought of during our lives or have had pictured to us in various forms during our lives [...] I definitely feel that we cannot do the fantastic things, based on the real, unless we first know the real. This point should be brought out very clearly to all new men, and even the older men.”

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! is a mystery, comedy, and adventure series first premiered on September 13, 1969 The show was created by Hanna-Barbera and became one of the most iconic cartoons of all time Over the decades, it has spawned multiple spin-offs, movies, and reboots
The animation of Scooby-Doo used hand-drawn cel animation, similar to the golden age Snow White. But in terms of this era of animation, every scene is very limited. Which is why is common to see an overuse repetitive scenes like the chasing sequence. Despite its limited techniques, The details in the film is also simple and quicker to produce as animators would prioritize quality over quantity during that era.

Each episode typically involves encountering a supposed ghost or monster not until then the mystery gang will unmask the situation It’s straightforward, simple and really repetitive with little surprise to make with but its the charm of a old classic for its humor, and fun mystery

science fiction adventure film produced and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It film follows Jim Hawkins, is a teenager who hidden away from space pirates. together with some friends, he sets on a quest to find the planet.
Treasure Planet is notable for its pioneering blend of traditional 2D hand-drawn animation and with 3D CGI for its environment and effects. This hybrid technique allowed for dynamic visuals, especially in depicting space scenes and complex machinery seen in the film which is very fascinating. The animation process utilizes "Deep Canvas," a technique originally developed for Disney’s Tarzan, which enables 2D characters to move seamlessly within 3D environments. However, Treasure Planet took a different approach pushed the boundaries to create a 2D characters interacting fully within 3D. This method is used for John Silver’s cybernetic robot parts.

Treasure Planet had sure been a flop from its box offence but its still one of the best animated movie I’d rewatched. Not long until I realize how this movie had impact me in terms of wanting to be an animator. The story of the movie were a touching moment and a burning adventure for my childhood. While Treasure Planet may not succeed, it gained and beloved by many.

directed by Chris Sanders, adapted from Peter Brown's 2016 novel. A story follows ROZZUM Unit 7134, “Roz” for short that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island. To survive, Roz learns to adapt to her surroundings, forming relationships with the island's animals and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling.
The film employs a distinctive animation style that blends computer-generated imagery (CGI) hand-painted characters and backgrounds. This approach creates a visually striking experience, combining the precision of CGI with the warrant texture of traditional hand-drawn art. Chris Sanders aimed to move away from the sterile feel of some modern animations, drawing inspiration from films like "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" to incorporate handmade aesthetic into the CGI framework
The Wild Robot has been lauded for its emotional depth and visual artistry. It’s animation were simply amazing, combining innovative techniques with a touching narrative, making it a must-watch for all ages. Although, one thing that bothers me was that while the gosling grew up, the other animals didn’t seem to change, like the baby possum, which remained the same throughout and this gave me the impression that time had barely slightly passed in the world in the film. Overall its compact with truly heart-warming story!

Ultraman: Rising premiered on Netflix, June 12, 2024. the story is about a superstar baseball player, Ken Sato. who returns to Japan to become the latest hero to carry the mantle of Ultraman. His plans go awry, however, when he is compelled to raise a newborn kaiju monster the offspring of his greatest enemy as his own child. Sato will also have to contend with his relationship with his estranged father and the schemes of the Kaiju Defense Force.
Ultraman is a CG-animated feature film produced by Netflix Animation in collaboration with Tsuburaya Productions. The film employs a vibrant and dynamic animation style that brings the iconic Japanese superhero to life.
My take of the movie. I am not really into Ultraman lore or any given super senta likei genre. Originally, I thought it was going to be just a typical story about a hero getting humbled to beat a better hero. Then the baby kaiju was introduced and this film revealed what it really was, a story about parenthood and just how lovely it is. With the main character starting off with unlikeable character to a change of heart. Overall this film introduce me a new take of the Ultraman franchise

Robot Dreams is a tragicomedy and silent film directed by Pablo Berger. made premiere on December 6, 2023. It is an adaptation into animation based on the 2007 comic by Sara Varon. the film follows a lonely Dog who purchases and befriended a mail-ordered robot. The unusual friendship goes through the year 1980s New York City.
Robot Dreams mainly focus using 2D animation for the film, with subtle use of 3D for perspective. Pablo Berger brings the characters to life in the reimagined 1980s New York, where every scene is meticulously detailed, even in the smallest moments. And I really enjoy having to watch the world becomes livelier to itself.
This was important for Berger not only to create one of the finest animation of recent years but it’s also one of the most persuasive love letters to the city. This choice of animation style contributes to the film's nostalgic and emotive atmosphere, effectively conveying the story without the use of dialogue.
As almost entirely dialogue-free, the storyline of Robot Dream is one of the most

An independent animated film movie “Flow”. made premiered in October 30, 2024 and directed by Latvian filmmaker, Gints Zilbalodis. Somehow manage to win the best animated feature at the golden globes, surpassing a billion dollar inside out 2, Dreamwork Masterpieces: The Wild Robot and Wallace and Gromit. With a very small team, and a shoestring budget. Flow is a silent film story about a solitary dark grey cat whose home is devastated by a massive flood. Seeking refuge, the cat boards a boat inhabited by various animal species, including a capybara, lemur, dog, and secretary bird. To survive together despite their differences
When I approach Flow based on its marketing trailer. At first thought this movie was from a video game but it was made done in Blender, free open source. The animation reminiscing of a GameCube-era visuals. Almost 2012 video game you may say. While the limited budget was outline by many, the film uniqueness manage to stand out. But the most standout is how the andromorphic animal behave as animals, if you compared the game Stray, with movement trackers. The film production team had to manually capture the behavior of the cat. Solely just the cat itself, the challenged for other animals behavior and vocals were difficult to capture, thus making the film immersive experiences

Flow had an intriguing ideas and concept, Although the character arc and development felt a little superficial. In my opinion stories should engage, inspire, and challenge it’s viewers but it’s barely much for me to see that. Furthermore, the story message is beautiful in complexity, unpredictable and heart-wrenching. I think Flow is a film that is definitely deserves to be watch in the cinema other then on TV.

Klaus, a Netflix film was release on November 8, 2019. It is a Christmas adventure comedy film directed by Sergio Pablos, The film serves as an inventive origin story for Santa Claus. It tells a story of Jasper, spoiled and underperforming postman who is stationed on a frozen island above the Arctic Circle where the feuding locals hardly exchange words let alone letters. He finds an ally in local teacher Alva and discovers Klaus, a mysterious carpenter who lives alone in a cabin full of handmade toys. These unlikely friendships return laughter to Smeerensburg, forging a new legacy of generous neighbors, magical lore, and stockings hung by the chimney with care.
Klaus is one of the most impressive for its uniqueness of animation. Most scene was traditional 2D hand-drawn then later, with an advanced digital tools made the appearance look like a three-dimensional. it may look like the film is 3D but its all about the trick of the light. The brilliant lighting and texturing technique not only phenomenal visually but it also tells the story way better how emphasize its character’s environment.
The story of Klaus had really delivered a origins of Christmas Holiday Spirit, making it standout from other typical holiday movies. This is a film shows a powerful message of what it means to be kind to others. As far the story, with subtle of comedy, were a rollercoaster ride in movements.
