Dear Guests and Friends, Welcome to our ninth annual Cork & Barrel wine event series! We are deeply grateful for your support and for the participation of the wineries, chefs, restaurants, donors, and volunteers who make these events possible. An extra special welcome and thanks to the Paso Robles wineries, CURRENTS and Riverhouse on the Deschutes for hosting this year. Our team has spent the past year designing this incredible event during unprecedented circumstances. Our event plan has been reviewed by public health experts, and we have been assured that it meets or exceeds all current COVID Safety guidelines. We hope this allows you to feel comfortable and enjoy the events. By attending tonight, you are making a tremendous difference in the lives of children and families facing abuse throughout Central Oregon. Thanks to our generous sponsors, 100 percent of your donations will go directly toward child abuse evaluations, family support and advocacy, therapy, and training adults to prevent child abuse. Funds raised at these events provide approximately 20 percent of KIDS Center’s $3.3 million annual operating budget, making life-changing intervention services available at no cost to hundreds of Central Oregon children and families every year. Annually, KIDS Center strives to maintain a balanced budget with appropriate cash reserves of at least 5 months. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic prompted a 9 mos. Events $763,575 spending and hiring freeze forcing KIDS 25% Center to operate at the leanest possible Events Corp capacity. KIDS Center Sponsors was able to obtain a $173,000 Paycheck Protection 5% Loan which enabled Corporate Partners us to avoid reductions $22,450 in staff beyond unfilled 1% open positions. AUCTION PURCHASE GUIDELINES

Payment

1. All payments shall be by cash, credit card, certified check, or personal check made payable to KIDS Center. Credit cards accepted are VISA, Mastercard, or AMEX. 2. Full payment must be made for all purchases at the conclusion of the Auction, unless payment arrangements have been made, such as payment to be coming from a stock or fund. 3. Cashiers, located in the check-in tent, will accept payment after the auction, unless Purchaser has previously opted to use the Auctionpay Quick Check-Out method (below).

Quick Check-In and Check-Out

Quick Check-In saves time by eliminating the need to stop and pay at the Check-Out area at the end of the Auction. 1. At registration, swipe your MasterCard, VISA or AMEX card information with the cashier. NO CHARGES will be issued to your card unless you make purchases or donations. Or, if you opted to keep a credit card on file from your ticket purchase, this credit card will be verified at check-in for easy checkout and payment. 2. Maximize the impact of your gift by covering your 3% credit card processing fee. Just let us know at check-in! (C&B credit card fees cost KIDS Center approximately $15,000 each year!) 3. Please verify your cell phone for your unique bidding link. This will ensure only you and any authorized bidders are accessing your account for the online auction. 4. At the end of the evening, simply proceed to Auction Pick Up in the lobby where you checked in to verify and claim your purchases. If no purchases are made, your card will not be charged, and any voided blank checks will be returned to you by mail.

Conditions of Purchase 1. KIDS Center and the Cork & Barrel Wine Event (the “Seller”) reserves the right to refuse admission to, or attendance by, any person at the Auction or related events. 2. The auctioneer is the agent for the Seller. 3. All wine and other items are sold “as is.” Purchasers must rely only on their own inspection and/or opinion; Seller makes no warranties, expressed or implied. 4. Seller does not warrant or represent, and expressly denies responsibility for, and in no event shall be responsible for, the accuracy or description of wines offered, or the correctness of the catalog, including, but not limited to the origin, rarity, age, genuineness, quality, quantity, or condition. 5. Unless specifically set forth, all auction items expire on July 17, 2022.

Bidding 1. All bids are per item as set forth in the catalog, unless otherwise announced by the auctioneer. 2. Seller may combine or divide any item(s) at their sole discretion.

3. Auctioneer and Seller have the right to reject any bid at any time prior to the fall of the hammer without liability. If the Auctioneer decides that any opening does not correspond with the value of the article offered, the Auctioneer may reject the bid and withdraw the item from sale; and if, having acknowledged an opening bid, the Auctioneer decides that any advance thereafter is insufficient, the auctioneer may reject the advance. 4. No live auction bid shall be valid unless expressly acknowledged by the Auctioneer. 5. The highest Bidder acknowledged during the live or silent/online auction shall be the Purchaser and therein assumes full risk and responsibility. 6. By raising a bidder paddle or making a silent/online auction bid, the Bidder warrants that s/he will pay the full purchase price if successful. 7. The Auctioneer shall have the absolute right to resolve any dispute, reoffer, resell, or withdraw the lot in question. If any dispute arises after the sale, the Seller’s sale records shall be conclusive in all respects. 8. All items offered for sale may be subject to a minimum price below which such lot will not be sold. That minimum price may be publicly stated or confidential. 9. Silent/online auction bid closing times will be posted. At close, the highest acknowledged Bidder shall be deemed to have purchased the item.

Item Pick Up and Shipping 1. Purchases must be picked up by the purchaser prior to leaving the venue at the conclusion of the Auction. Buyers will receive a receipt listing their purchases and after reviewing and approving the receipt, they will pick up their items. 2. If buyers are not present at the conclusion, buyers may pick up items on Friday, July 23 at KIDS Center from 9 AM - 6 PM. Or call 541-383-5958 to make special arrangements. 3. Any item(s) not removed from the venue by the above time will be held for three (3) weeks at KIDS Center, 1375 NW Kingston Ave, Bend, OR 97703. KIDS Center will make an attempt to contact the winning bidder. If the Bidder fails to retrieve the item(s) in question by the end of the three-week period, KIDS Center will assume the Bidder has abandoned the property and relinquished it to KIDS Center, treat the Bidder’s payment as a straight donation to KIDS Center, and seek to make other use of the item(s) that the Bidder has abandoned. 4. Purchaser shall incur all shipping and insurance costs for items not picked up at the conclusion of the Auction, however, shipping arrangements are the sole responsibility of the purchaser. 5. Out-of-state Bidders shall be familiar with the laws of their locality since shipping regulations, especially those pertaining to beverages of alcoholic content, vary from state to state. 6. In the event of loss or damage to any item incurred in the course of its handling or storage during the auction event and before possession is taken by the Buyer, the Buyer will be compensated as follows: 1) if the item has not been paid for, the exact amount of the bid placed will be subtracted from the Buyer’s purchases; or 2) if the item has been paid for, the Buyer will receive a refund of that bid amount. Banshee was started in 2009 at a bar in the Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco with money borrowed from friends and family of the owners. Banshee’s initial intent was to make wines that tasted like the best California had to offer, but that were priced so that everyone could enjoy them. The Banshee Cabernet featured at Cork & Barrel is sourced from several key vineyard sites on the west side including Adelaida, Templeton Gap, and York Mountain where soils are rich in limestone. The Banshee brand has matured from its inception on a cocktail napkin on a bar in San Francisco to the hip – and delicious – wine company that it is today.

Booker Vineyard & My Favorite Neighbor Wines LLC The name Booker comes from the two orphan brothers, Claude and Dick Booker, who had purchased the land in the late 1920’s. Fast-forward to today, Booker Vineyard honors the humility and charity of the Booker brothers by sustainably farming the land surrounding Booker and giving back to the community. Booker Vineyard’s estate vineyards are farmed in accordance with organic and biodynamic practices to sustain the long-term health of the vines and surrounding environment. My Favorite Wines – an extension of Booker Vineyard wines – are wines created by sourcing the best, sustainably-farmed fruit from a collection of neighboring vineyards as well as their own.

Chronic Cellars Chronic Wines are wines of character. Original founders, Josh and Jake Beckett, turned an idea into reality in 2004 when they used two tons of the best – or chronic – grapes to make killer wine. Ever since then, Chronic Cellars has been fully committed to making seriously good wine for people looking for a little dose of adventure. Deeply rooted in their home of Paso Robles, the Becketts and Chronic Wines put a creative spin on the wine industry without compromising quality.

DAOU Family Estate As children growing up in Beirut, brothers Georges and Daniel Daou fell in love with the rural ways of life during visits to their grandfather’s ancient olive groves. As young men, the brothers shared the same dream: to live a life in wine. Their return to the land – by way of France and later, university and entrepreneurialism in California – has resulted in one of the most stunning wine operations in the world: DAOU Family Estates located in the Adelaida District of Paso Robles. The Daou brothers pour their souls into creating some of California’s most noteworthy wines, while cultivating a guest experience to match. In the end, DAOU is about family - and the truth that nothing brings people together like wine.

Hope Family Wines They say that farming is the noblest profession – one that Hope Family Wines thinks of as a labor of love. In 1978, Austin Hope came to Paso Robles with his family, when his parents bought a ranch and planted both vineyards and apple orchards. Attempting to punish the rebellious youngster, Austin’s father, Chuck Hope, put him to work in the vineyards. Much to his father’s surprise, at just eight-years-old, Austin took to the work immediately. Fast forward to today, Austin Hope, winemaker and president of Hope Family Wines, is dedicated to the stewardship of the estate vineyard and winemaking. In 2019, he was awarded “Wine Person of the Year” by the City of Paso Robles. Hope Family Wines is an example of how a labor of love can result in the finest of flavors.

J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines In the late 1960s, Jerry Lohr began an extensive investigation of California grape growing regions – searching for the ideal location for his first vineyard. His research and instincts led him to the Central Coast, an area just beginning to explore its potential for winegrowing. J. Lohr farms over 2,700 acres of vineyards in Paso Robles, an area now recognized as one of the world’s best spots for Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux and Rhone varietals. Nearly all the red wines in the J. Lohr portfolio come from Paso, affirming the foresight of Jerry’s original vision. Still family-owned and operated today, J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines has established itself as one of the industry’s most respected wine brands.

JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery Former investment and international banker, Justin Baldwin, founded JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery when he purchased 160 acres west of Paso Robles and planted his estate vineyards in 1981. Rich in fossilized limestone from eons of marine deposits, JUSTIN’s soil is ideally suited to creating big, Bordeaux-style reds. The hot days allow the grapes to develop intense flavor, while the cool nights create great structure and balance. With a mission to make world-class Bordeaux-style wines, JUSTIN is synonymous with exceptional... from every angle.

Peachy Canyon Winery Founded by Doug and Nancy Beckett in 1988, Peachy Canyon has long been praised as a producer of award winning California wines that exemplify respect for terroir and dedicated winemaking. Zinfandel has long been Peachy Canyon’s flagship varietal—oftentimes with multiple vineyard designates in production. Jake and Josh Beckett, sons and owners, were raised in the heart of Paso Robles wine country, where wine and the art of wine making became part of their lives beginning in the early 1980’s. Jake has served as Head of Sales and Marketing and Josh as Head Winemaker for many successful years. Today, the brothers are co-owners in the family wine business handling day to day operations and are intrinsic to Peachy Canyon’s continued success as the largest family-owned and operated winery on Paso Robles’ west side.

Pear Valley Vineyard The genesis of the wine story for Pear Valley began in the late 60’s when owner Tom Maas was stationed on an army base in Germany...in the midst of a vineyard. There he learned to love both wine and the vineyard. It started with 20 acres in 1999 and now, Tom and Kathleen own 113 acres where they dedicate their energy and resources to provide the best environment for growing premium grapes. The vineyards are operated with sustainable farming practices to ensure that the best fruit possible will still be grown when their grandchildren operate the farm. In August 2012, Pear Valley officially achieved Sustainability in Practice (SIP) Vineyard Certification. Attaining SIP Certification demonstrates dedication to vineyard practices that are environmentally sound, socially equitable, and economically viable.

Tablas Creek Vineyard Tablas Creek is a pioneer of California’s Rhone movement. Founded in 1989, it is the culmination of a friendship between two of the international wine community’s leading families dating back to 1967: the Perrin family of Chateau de Beaucastel and the Haas family of Vineyard Brands. After a four-year search, the partners chose Paso Robles, California, for its many similarities to southern Rhone, and began the lengthy process of creating an estate vineyard from scratch. Tablas Creek Vineyard follows the centuries-old Châteauneuf-du-Pape tradition of blending, to produce wines that balance richness and elegance, while ensuring complexity, freshness, and minerality. Winemaking techniques, including dry farming, native yeast fermentation, and the use of large, neutral French oak foudres for aging allow their wines to reflect authentically the grapes, place and vintage from which they come.

What would you give to fund the future of a child...

TOP Winery Elena Martinez and Stanley Barrios are first generation Latino-Americans. Their families are collectively from El Salvador, Peru, Guatemala, and Mexico. The most important thing learned from their family and culture: dedication and hard work will always pay off. The maturation of their hard work and education is TOP Winery, which came to fruition in 2014 in Paso Robles. The namesake of the winery – a spinning top – epitomizes the values of the husband/wife duo. It reminds Elena, the General Manager, and Stanley, the Winemaker, of what they want to achieve in their personal lives: the pursuit of the appreciation of the simplicities of life, while always in continuous motion, and striving to maintain balance and enjoyment in the moment.

Villa Creek Cellars The idea of making wine seemed like an unreachable dream when Cris and JoAnn Cherry moved to Paso Robles in 1996. Brimming with passion about wine and the industry, they began with the Villa Creek label in 2001. The Cherry’s are loyal to their natural surroundings and seek to understand them rather than control them. They treat the farm like the living, breathing organism that it is: sixty acres (24.25 ha) surrounded by oak forests and chaparral, fed by mountain springs and seasonal creeks, and teaming with wildlife; a majestic property that rises in elevation from 1500 ft to 1800 ft (450 m to 550 m) above sea level, and feels the subtle sway of the ocean’s influence. Villa Creek wines are wines of fruit, minerality, earth, and soul handcrafted on their organic and biodynamic West Paso Robles estate.

Would you give a child healing?

Zenaida Cellars Eric and Jill Ogorsolka planted their home vineyard in the late 1980’s in the Templeton Gap area, west of Paso Robles at the base of the Santa Lucia Coastal Range. 2021 marks their 24th vintage and 21 years of welcoming guests to the winery, which occupies the original homestead of the property. Eric, the winemaker, and Jill farm the land much as folks did back in the day: Utilizing the same low-impact philosophy in the vineyard and in the winery, Eric maintains that farming and living sustainably will not only produce higher quality wines, it will also help leave the land in better condition than how he found it.

What would you give to fund the future of a child...

Sunriver Brewing Company Brett Thomas, Director of Brewery Operations Brett is a 2010 Falconer Foundation scholarship recipient and a 2011 graduate of the American Brewers Guild with a degree in Intensive Brewing Science and Engineering. His brewing prowess can be tasted in more technical beers like our Fuzztail Hefeweizen and Rivermark Pilsner. Don’t let that shade the fact that he and his awesome team are masters of brewing bolder, hop-forward beer styles like IPAs and Double IPAs, as well as barrel aged imperial stouts. Sunriver Brewing Company’s pub in the Village at Sunriver opened to rave reviews in the summer of 2012. Recognizing that the original pub would not accommodate demand, a 13,000-square foot building was purchased in the Business Park in 2014. Since that time, Sunriver Brewing Company has garnered many national and international awards for their craft beer. In February of 2016, Sunriver opened its second pub location on Galveston Avenue in Bend, Oregon. The year of 2017 included a major national accomplishment with winning Small Brewing Company of the Year at the Great American Beer Festival. In 2019, Sunriver opened their third pub in the Oakway Center located in Eugene, Oregon.

Chef Robert Parks grew up in the Pittsburgh area, being exposed early on to many ethnic backgrounds that sparked his passion for a culinary career, as food can always be a bonding element anywhere in the world! Upon graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, he held positions at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan, Hilton Head Island, the Ritz Carlton in Naples FL, the Woodlands Convention Center & Resort in Houston, and continued his career in the private luxury country club sector in San Diego and Sarasota FL, along with culinary consulting work in Canada and southern France. He and his family moved to Oregon as it was always a dream of his to live in the Pacific Northwest and enjoy its diversity in the culinary world and the beautiful outdoors that Central Oregon offers.

These wines were donated for our use at auction by long-time supporters of KIDS Center who were retailers of wine. The provenance of this auction lot is verified – these bottles were acquired by the donors upon their release from the Champagne house. They have been stored in a temperature-controlled climate from their original purchase. Dom Pierre Pérignon, a French Benedictine monk, set out his vision to create the best wine in the world when he became Cellar Master at the sacred Abbey of Hautvillers in 1668.
