From the Desk of Maria Pearson We are approaching a very busy time of year at HGI Senior Health Solutions! October 15th through December 7th is the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP). This is the only time of year for people who are already on Medicare to pick up a Prescription Drug Plan or Advantage Plan if they do not have one or to make changes – including changing from one Drug Plan to a new Drug Plan or changing from one Advantage Plan to a new Advantage Plan. A person on a Medicare Advantage Plan also has another opportunity to switch to a new Advantage Plan from January 1st through March 31st. Many Advantage Plan members are not aware of this additional open enrollment period. Keep this in mind if you are already on an Advantage Plan. Here at HGI Senior Health Solutions, we have a team that works together to complete reviews. If you returned an AEP reply form to our office, you will be contacted by either Lorrainne Lewis, Marlyn Kirkham, Wendy Glista or myself.

Please know our department’s phone call and email volume is very high during AEP. If we do not answer the phone, please leave a message at one phone line. Calls will be returned within a few days. Email messages will be responded to within a few days as well. Your patience is appreciated during AEP!
