Rev. Jennie Lee Salas
Reverend Jennie Lee Salas is an ordained Presbyterian Minister, presently serving at Iglesia Presbiteriana en San Sebastian in Puerto Rico since September 2022. She attained an MDiv/MSW from Princeton Theological Seminary and Rutgers University in New Jersey. She served as an Associate Director at Princeton Theological Seminary in the Vocational and Field Education office. She is a graduate of the OASIS Spiritual Direction program and provides individual and group Spiritual Direction. She is a social worker, with a focus on training in domestic violence and alcohol and substance abuse. Pastoral care and counseling are a major focus of her ministry and draw on all of her training to bring God’s healing to the mind, body, heart, and soul. Jennie has had the gift to serve ecumenically within the life of the church and in various positions. She has served on various boards and is a co-founder of Covenant Architects Network (CAN), which serves unchurched young adults by providing spaces for dialogue, Leaning/Serving retreats, and workshops for youth and young adults. She is a missionary at heart with a passion to serve as God leads us to witness the transformative power of Jesus Christ in the lives of others. She facilitates seminars and workshops and has co-written a chapter and research article on theological reflection. She is presently working on a bilingual devotional for women incarcerated with other women who are impassioned about women's ministry, as she is. She is a retreat organizer and facilitator and provides reflection on the local radio station in Puerto Rico. Although Jennie has had the blessing to experience various areas of ministry, she is grateful to God for the experiences that God has given her through her travels and the ability to speak three languages- English, Spanish, and Portuguese which gives her the ability to serve people from different parts of the world. The moving force in Jennie’s heart is the Spirit of God, who leads her to do everything in love (1 Corinthians 16:14).

The first anthem, Sanctus, is from Ariel Ramírez’s concert mass, Misa Criolla, which was composed in 1964 shortly after the Second Vatican Council approved and encouraged the creation of works in the vernacular for use in Catholic worship. The mass is set in a Spanish translation of the original Latin. Ramírez was a composer and scholar of Argentinian folk music and culture, and though the music is all original, it takes its inspiration from various forms and elements of South American folk music. The fourth movement – the Sanctus - uses a beautiful and unusual folk rhythm from Bolivia – the carnival cochabambino. The words translate: “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty. Heaven and earth are full of thy glory. Glory be to Thee, O Lord most high.” About the About the Chapel Chapel
